First HDD that's crashed on me in ages...
This was a Barracuda 1 TB drive that was in my NAS. It ran 24x7 for just shy of 2 years, and then started making some serious clunking and screeching sounds. No biggie, as it is a RAID box, and was just a mirror drive.
I have no particular favorite in HDD manus, as they're all basically the same stuff inside, so I will lay the blame on Linux, since that's what runs the NAS.
Everything else I have runs a version of Windows, and has Diskeeper running on it (even my Windows Home Server and netbook has it). Never once have I had a drive failure on a machine with Diskeeper installed (knock on wood for S&G)...
Target practice this weekend -- the AK needs a barrel cleaning anyway...
