Rant - as heard on the internet

I've never put it so eloquently but I do hint at them buying the hard to find songs. I've had the brides purchase them many times. They're almost proud of the fact they can get music that I can't. Hey, if it makes them feel good I aim to please any women. Well, almost any women. Those Big Mac sucking down ones I stay away from.:sqerr:

True... I had a bride want a Disney Wedding CD she told me if I couldn't get it she could give me her CD... I got it off iTunes no problem... but the fact is yes they will most often gladly lend you their copies.

I have one currently that wants a song, that so far I have not even able to find it on a CD or MP3 to buy. She heard it at another wedding being played by a keyboard player, I can find the sheet music but that's about it. I told her she should probably come up with another song, or see about hiring a keyboard player, that I could pipe into my system.

I'll bite.. What's the song?

The Irish Wedding Song by Ian Betteridge.

If you search for it it will link to a CD on Amazon, but the song is listed as being by someone else and so far I have not ever been able to play it to see if it is the same song.

I just got back from meeting with a couple, planning their wedding. They had a few songs that were unique. They stated that if I didn't have the songs they would supply them for me. I didn't even have to ask.

Mike : I doubt you will find a version performed by Ian Betteridge. He wrote it.

The most popular/requested versions are by Tony Kenny, Andy Cooney, and/or John McDermott.

I'm also looking for a track. Luca Barbarossa "Portami a Ballare" . I can't find a studio version through my normal suppliers. Client doesn't have it either. They heard it on YouTube so I did grab the audio/video from there but it's live.

Brilliant bull****

"I'm sorry. That song is not resident in my library nor readily available from my existing suppliers. Please provide me with your original media at your earliest possible convenience so that I may remaster it into a perfect digital image. Once completed I will return your copy to you immediately so you can practice and get comfortable dancing to it in advance of the actual event."

Jeeze, don't forget the hip waders! A shovel wouldn't hurt at all either. If you can't dazzle 'em with brilliant footwork...

Truly brilliant bullsh**. My hat's off.

Did find a cd by Andy Cooney, north of the border on eBay hopefully it'll be a good version.

. Ah, maybe not so fast an opinion. While there's a politically correct tone, there is actually more to that sentence than the song.

So many see the beautiful forest, so few the elegant individual trees. Sigh.

Taking this statement :

the client is being told that efforts were made to acquire their song unsuccessfully. While they don't know where or how, they are assured that reasonable efforts were indeed made.

Next, they are asked for their copy. Their response to that may offer further clues where it might be found with additional extraordinary efforts (such as "We heard it on YouTube" or WFUX/WSUX radio or.???").

By remastering it to a digital file, the notice is being made that I need this track in advance of the date, not at the event at the last minute. No CDs day of.

By returning it, they known it is merely a loan and that whatever time and expense they needed to outlay, they still reap the benefits.

By recommending to practice the dance to it, it is a really nice way of saying that the song choice may, at the moment be an emotional choice, but having to dance to that selection, in the spotlight with every word in the song jumping out, combined with the inability to dance to anything good let alone unusual, should be looked at and tested before the horror and embarrassment takes place. Many times, that innocent suggestion rightfully causes them to drop the track entirely.

A lot of different trees in that forest.

Gal-darnit, Mr. Capello, you use your tongue prettier than a 20-dollar whore.

Unfortunately the mutts only see urinals.

Sorry but I don't speak "Sophisticated Lady".

Now that's a little more like it.
