Pricing for DJ vs. Photographer

I will also say DJ's like Photographers gain value to clients with experience, word of mouth, quality of work they do and yes that can be reflected in there equipment. I see many photographers and I can almost name them and there prices just by there work that I have scene.

Some are also great with photoshop which to me makes the difference of a good photo and a great photo. Here is a photo that is on my site and from one of my favorite photographers to work with. We get tons of business from them and we both have links to each others site. Great photo but the work with photoshop sent this photo over the edge to awesome.

I know about both sides of this coin also. I added a photography biz to my dj biz this year. And to say that some photogs print at walmart is the same as saying some dj's use ipods.

Its just a cheezy one. Most of us use professional printers. I upload all of my files once processed directly to my printers.

The amount of time spent isnt even close... but I love doing alot of creative photoshop to my wedding photos... its what sells. So, I might be a minority on just how much time I spend. I am still creating an album for a wedding I did on Spetember 6th. I probably have over 10 hours just in this album alone.

Photos are more important than DJs.

If the party sucks, there will be another one somewhere real soon. You can have a better time next week, month, etc.

If the photos suck - that moment will never occur again.

Having the right person behind the lens is much more critical than having the right guy behind the mixer.
