Unless you decorate regularly, you have a prefered florist. One that is reliable, prompt and reasonably priced.

Everybody has a favorite bakery. Nothing beats a good local bakery. I know people that will go 15 miles out of their way to get their favorite cookies, pies, whatever.
That being said, for many brides around here, it is a game of one-up-manship. They must have the best (and sometimes most unique looking) cake their guests have ever had. And for that they will betray their favorite bakery if they are not up to snuff.

Usually only serious club goers have a favorite DJ.

Does Dunkin Donuts Qualify? :sqerr:

I'm cheap! I send virtual flowers. Even those get thrown in the trash though! :sqeek:

My favorite bakery = COSTCO (Noahs bagels cost 37 cents each, compared to 80 cents in the Noah's Bagels stores)

My favorite florist = COSTCO (One dozen long-stemmed roses for $12.99 -- compared to $50 at the local florist)

B) Bakery, in my opinion

There's a really yummy breadmaker in Lafayette called Great Harvest Bread Co. They make some sweets, too, but I tend to stick to their bread loaves and dinner rolls. I don't go on the regular, but when I want something better than what's offered by the supermarket around the corner, I go there.

Not always...

I have one family I have done more than a dozen weddings for with still more to go

But I chose Baker:sqerr:

I don't even know of any local bakeries near me. Closet one is about 4 miles away, and they are known for their rolls, not the goodies. Like Matt, my "baker" AND "florist" is Costco.

Let's see, for the people coming over tomorrow I bought:

1. Garlic Cheddar Cheese
2. Smoked Ghuda
3. Stilton
4. Buffalo Chicken Cheese
5. Dubliner
6. Provolone
7. Velveeta

Ahhh, see you don't want to be the only one having heart attacks... :sqerr:

Spread the cheer Son... :sqlaugh: :sqwink:

I dunno
can a florist or a bakery be a "favorite"
they're usually people you go to
because you HAVE to.

a DJ is a person
a person they probably saw and talked to at another event

someone they feel they can relate to
and who can relate to them

if you always go to the same bakery,
it's because you like their food
a florist...
probably because they're close by

if they are WAY overpriced
you'd probably go somewhere else.

if you found a DJ for your wedding that you really connected with...
or wanted the same DJ who did your sisters and/or friends wedding...
you'd probably pay the extra price
cause it's more personal

but I've been wrong before:sqerr:

Bakery -

Our best one closed down but I like our Bagel Bin run by a great bunch of New Yorkers - real in house bagels with no bs service

Flowers die - I NEVER ever send flowers - my Missus doesn't expect them either she'll get a good book or an iTunes certificate or even some fresh fruit and vegetables but flowers - no way

DJs - Isn't everyone a DJ or know someone who is?

I think flowers are a waste as well -- BUT, I'm half Italian, and I'd probably get buried alive in my own back yard, if I didn't send them to select people's funerals... :sqerr:

Funny thing though -- everybody always sent my Grandma flowers (but she insisted if they did, they had to be live) -- she planted every single one!

I now have to deal with them -- and they are trees now -- thousands of them. I cut them down every year, pull the roots, burn them -- and they keep coming back...arrrgh :sqeek:

Aliens, I tell ya...

if grandma is no longer around
I wouldn't cut the flowers...
I think it's a sign.

I have an Italian Mother-in-Law
and they are VERY persistent!
