So I finally got home yesterday and was able to unpack and check them out.

First thoughts:
  • Cheaply made, as you would expect for the price.
  • Won't be durable, frequent repairs will be needed. There was a small crack on the bottom of the E. All the other letters were fine.
  • Poor finish work. Not all the sides and panels line up.
  • Very big, 45" tall x 7.5' wide.
  • Needs weights in the bottom to make them more stable.
  • Very lightweight, not much too these things.
  • Still look very cool, I think. My wife likes them too. Every other wedding vendor that I have sent the attached picture and video to have liked them as well.
  • Could easily upgrade them to DMX and even add amber and white LED strips to them.
I'm taking them to a wedding show on the 19th. It will be interesting to see what couples think of them. If I book them enough over the next few wedding shows I will have someone make more durable versions.

What about a nice size sign with LED lights built in that you can program to make words and change colors as need be. Not a single strip small sign that goes from right to left. A good size sign that will stand out. One that you can program to say what you want depending on the event and what the client wants.

Have it be able to just show it non flashing or flashing for a certain effect. Depending on what you and the client want for their event. Possibly make it so it can fit on a stand and be raised up. Also what about it being able to flash one letter at a time until the whole thing is spelled out. Just thinking of different options to use such a sign.

The types of signs you are talking about only look good from a distance. If you see them up close all you see is a bunch of LEDs. A TV works much better at closer distances.

I think up against the wall will be the deal with these, and I think brides will jump on them this coming wedding season. I saw a few last year. They will be like chocolate fountains, be big for a season or two then nothing. I mean, how many of us went out and bought a fountain and now have it collecting dust somewhere.

The guys that will rock are the guys that jump on this, get in and get out. IMHO

So we have been looking at using letters for awhile. We had the chance to test them this past weekend at a fashion show to support LLS. We surprised the organizer with them and they loved them. So many guests were commenting and taking pictures with them. We did have them turned up a little too high. We should have dimmed them more to help with pictures. We had several people take our cards and said they would be perfect for the their corporate events. We do already have a New Years Wedding that have "2018" booked. These are custom built ones.

Love it! My wife and I raise money annually of LLS.

What could be the thing is include it in the price and don't tell them it's an upsell. You could sell it as one of your packages and if need be add more to the package so it's attractive enough that people will buy that package. I agree with it not being a big upsell item. I don't see many people paying $250-300 for this to be at their wedding. In my opinion maybe $100. That's just my take on it.
