They use now 3W led's. From my sources they all have more or less the same output. I will tell you next month how bright they are... I have a few in the mail with 9 led's.

Looks like 7 lamps in the pic of the fixture... if they are 3 watt LED's each (and depending on what type of LED---luxion, or other, quality will be of issue with type) max is 21 watts total output. Probably 2 LED's per color, with a 3rd red... total of about 6 watts for G or B... most likely, 9 watts for R.

If you were to go with a 1 watt, 36 lamp unit... you are looking at 12 LED's per color, or 12 total watts each R, G, or B, much brighter. Probably in the cost range of $250 to $400.

If you were to go with a 3 watt, 36 LED unit, you are looking at 12 LED's per color, or 36 watts per R, G, and B, much, much brighter! Probably in the cost range of $400-$800.

If they are about $200-$240 per fixture, for just a little more, you can get a whole lot more kick.

Here's a quote from a quick google search:

Every electrical device or component must be certified by the Canadian Standards Association (or recognized equivalent) before it can be sold in Canada. Implicit in this is that all wiring must be done with CSA-approved materials. They perform testing similar to the UL (a bit more stringent), except that CSA (or recognized equivalent) approval is required by law.

Again, like the UL, if a fire was caused by non-CSA-approved equipment, your insurance company may not have to pay the claim.
