I really like "4 Minutes", but I'm waiting for a longer version. As it ends at the 3:10(ish) mark, it totally sounds like it's about to go into a drum break... it needs it. I'm hoping for a longer version, which I might want to use to restructure it.

I don't have alot this week but I did pull a few new ones for the weekend.

Snoop Dogg - Cool
Kasper from the K - Whatugonnado
GIT Fresh - Booty Music
Grind Mode - She's So Fly(and I'm so High)
Riskay - Smell That Chick
Piles ft Neyo - Bust It Baby Part 2
Estelle ft Kanye West - American Boy

Non-Rap picks for the week:

Secondhand Serenade - Fall for You
Fall Out Boy ft John Mayer - Beat It
Def Leppard Ft Tim McGraw - Nine Lives

There can't be new realeases everyday. I got my listing for my Urban April Cd's. I'm already playing everything on them. I'm too ahead of the game right now.

Curious...where are you getting all these songs so much sooner than you're getting from your subscription service?

You asked I tell. If you would like to fight me on the issue so be it, I will just ignore you. 99% of my music is obtained though subscription service, and most of the time when I get it early it's on one of my cd's in the following months.

Sometimes I get promo's in the mail.

Somtimes they are emailed to me from friends in radio.

Sometimes friends in radio give me cd's

Sometimes people burn me cd's

Sometimes I download them.

Sometimes I save them in MP3 fromat from sirius radio.

Sometimes they are on the lesser used Subcription service like Promo Only Urban Club. Manytimes their Urban releases are 2 months ahead of radio.

I don't use too many remixes. I have been playing this one for about 6 weeks it has gone over well an in regular rotation.

Just goes to show you how different areas go for different versions of songs. I too was TRYING to get the original to go over for me but it kept bombing on the dancefloor.

As soon as I got the remix, it's a floor packer!!

You are at a completely different ballpark. People here won't dance to anything that is not the version they hear on the radio.

I worked the clubs here over the years, there are a few smaller non-top40 clubs where people expect odd versions. But for the most part we keep it pretty simple and as close to the original versions of songs as possible. Sometimes funkymix is even too much.

I get away with tons of new music the place I work at now is just a hang out. We git a little bit of dancing but mainly people go there to shoot pool and drink.

Wow, I'm not sure where the hostility is coming from--just asked a simple question.

Was not meant to be hostile. Generally anyone that admits to not legally obtaining music tracks is thrown under a bus.

I provided the honest truth. My music subscription is generally a few weeks to a month behind.

It was not meant to be mean, I'm sorry if I sounded standoffish.

Just got the LP version, which is only about a minute longer, but actually has a break when Timbaland calls for a break.

I don't know if its ever been mentioned but I am a member at allaccess.com from my radio days, I've been a member for 10 years its free and the music resoruces are unbelievable. It was started by Joel Denver who used to be the CHR editor at R&R back when people used to read it.

The site which is free to join gives you access to an abbreviated mediabase. From there I make sure all my djs have a serato crate of all the currents of all of our local stations

I just use mediabase directly to look at the complete playlist of radio stations around the country.

I also look at the jump and the new adds. This is the biggest method I use to find my new music.

I have mediabase and BDS access as well i like allaccess because i can see with pd/md pics across the country what's coming around the corner. We get record service from just about everyone. Most of my regional reps from my radio days are VP's now and it makes new music easy for us.
