My new site is about ready, I think there are a few tweeks, but do me a fave, check it out with a new pair or pairs of eyes and looking for my mis-spellings, or if you have any thoughts on it...

I know my web Master will love this post!! ;)

Can you make the aspect of the page bigger? My aspect ratio is 1650 x 1080 and the writing is very small. I have to lean in to my monitor to read it. I know you're thinking I should lower the pixels on my computer, but if I'm seeing it this way, so are many others. Also, the pictures could be a lot bigger. You work in this beautiful paradise. Post some pictures that show how nice your equipment looks against that gorgeous backdrop in a size that people can see.

I will ask about the ratio deal,,, me no good with buttons.....

LOL

as far as pics go, I should have soon my Maui and Event galleries up so they can be viewed...

please more thoughts if ya find or think of something

Nice and neat my brudah Chuck!

But as has been said already...the aspect is too small making the site difficult to read.

I would also suggest publishing your phone number on every page, nice and big, easy to see. Currently it's only on the contact page.

Watch the stats and see if you get the results you are looking for!

There are two types of designs, designs that scale the entire page, and those that are fixed size. Typically for artsy pages (as with most templates, I challenge you to compare from my custom in house templates and the diy templates on the internet) you will use 1024 as the max pixel width. This is the standard, according to W3C standards.

You can run into issues when using stretched or floating layout. Note this site doesn't use tables either (which have been depreciated according to W3C standards). There is a method to the madness, believe me, and google ranks you better (from what I hear) when you follow W3C standards closer.

I understand the small text, but I have tested this on multiple monitors, varying sizes, varying browsers and operating systems.

Randy, I'll be the first to accept critism. I like to know what tha peeeople think. I try to stay hip and trendy :) It's how I learn. I am a very visual guy and that is what a majority of my business is about, if you can't be vivid and imaginational you (me) have no business being in a media based industry :)

I understand the tongue in cheek, although there are times we differ in opinion :D I always respect & appreciate your opinion and thoughts and agree to disagree. :)

I understand the scaling issue. Seems you designed the actual site for at least 800 wide. As for the font size, perhaps going a bit smaller on the menu will allow you more room for text. You could also probably expand the text box 10px or so, and not lose the blue gradient effect on the right.

Love the background, perfect. Also like the overhanging flower, bottom right, adds nice depth to the site.

Chuck, have you ever considered or tried using a satellite image of the island instead of that generic drawing?

Hmmm...as I look at it more, the menu is too much of an eye draw. Why bother to read the text when there is a link screaming WEDDINGS right there.

When using a picture that small, make sure it is easy to see. The weddings picture is great, but loses something when it's that small.

Wayde, as it presently stands, the menu bar has to be that length to be that wide. I see how some can perceive it to be an eyesore, but for the basics of what chuck does, it gets the gist, out. Who wants to wayde (sorry for the pun) through pages and scroll down to hear about how great the dj thinks he is or what he can do. I personally would leave the sales pitch to the phone.

Now I'm not talking down Chuck's approach, he has well written paragraphs, my site, eh not so much. My site is mearly there for the SEO and presence. Everybody has their own approach and I try to respect that.

Very rarely does one read through all the sentences in my site, the internet is designed for quick blurbs and then call. I know when i look for a company on the net, I just look for their number and dial dial dial!

I also wanted to incorporate chuck's tat into the design (per his request) we wanted something that was part of the main concept and overall theme, this appeared as the best place to put it, anywhere else might have been an eyesore altogether, the body would be NO place for this. This worked great.

BTW the design was inspired by us, with the help of chucks words. We generally design a page based upon our clients target audience. I try to match colors of the company, mine is a bluish color, business cards, and other print and advertising media going around within my clients company.

The online templates only do so much and can sometimes be more trouble than they are worth. We provide end to end design work, for no more than what you would typically receive in 2-4 events. We also do after sale upkeep and support at fair hourly rates, even for current sites if you are not a diy'fer. To me, having a good web presence at a decent price is worth it. Compound it with premium web-hosting at the ODJT discount price through me and you got it made. :D

Awesome site. But....Unless you have the eyes of a hawk, the text needs to be larger.

All you have to do is hold down the "Ctrl" key while you rotate the wheel thingy on your mouse.

Voila'--- bigger font for the visually impaired (like me).

keep up the good work, Mr. Travis!

That works great Matt, but how many Brides looking at Chuck's site will know to do that or even do it if the do.

What they see right away is what is most important. In this day and age, people don't want to have to do things to get what they want. They want it now and don't want to have to do anything to get it.

Just my 2 copper coins.
