I still don't undertsand why some of us bring so much gear. I just did a recital at the theater below with four speakers(2 powered, 2 passive), one amp and my custom console. I ran the stuff at 50% and it rocked the house.

And even then they don't see the value until they find someone who can't do it
 
Sell the sizzle not the steak and they will perceive the value.

Hank -your laptop fails, what's your back up? If you mixer fails, what's your back up?....If at the event you are approched by the client to plug in a couple of guitars, or extra mics......are you able to?

My pacemaker is my instant back up if a laptop goes down...until I get the other laptop up and running. I don't like to have both of my laptops or mixers plugged in at the same time in case of a power surge. I have 3 open spots on my mixer for additional mics/instruments if needed. While I have never needed it, if I needed more inputs, I could plug in the back up mixer(exactly the same as the first) into my mixer and have 5 more channels.
