I think Charles is right too... check out the smaller truss... then call me to check out :sqwink:

I think I would have to agree that I like the look of the... the ...ummmm (can't say anything with out it turning dirty here can I?) bare truss. Butt... maybe with a smaller truss covered it would look pretty slick, not as over powering... just my .02

Kat

HA! You said BUTT! :sqwink:

Thanks Cclark,

I was trying to use what I had here.

There was some of that mini truss outside of the NLFX room at Mobile Beat, but it wasn't Global. It had the Dynacord sign hanging on it.

Kat, do you remember?

No Jon,

I was a black sign that had a blue light-up Dynacord logo right outside of the sound room.

Just an observation as I'm looking at your pics Keith...

Is it possible that the bass from the subwoofer could vibrate the truss & satellite speaker off the subwoofer? Crashing to the floor wouldn't be a look that I think you'd want, right?

Maybe I'm missing something... but if the truss & other speaker are sitting freely, I'd be afraid of the higher center of gravity + vibrations from the sub = causing things to topple to the floor.

If that's not the case, I like the buff truss look - if you could uplight that with a small LED par - probably a Par 38 would work fine, IMHO.

Cheers,

Joe

Joe,

I am using the threaded mount on top of the sub(for the pole) and bolting the plate that the truss is mounted to.

It's a 20mm bolt and it ain't going anywhere. :)

I actually have two layers of rubber on top of the sub with a center hole cut out, then the plate. It's rock solid.

Thanks Steve,

My Chauvet ColorsplashJr's are the only LED lights (that I own) that will fit inside the 12" wide truss.

The mini truss is 8.75" wide and has the same diameter tubing.

The next problem is that mine is 4' long, with the height of the sub/plate puts it at just shy of 6' to the bottom of the D8.

The mini truss comes in meters;

3.28 (1.0m) - puts the bottom of the D8 at ~4' 8" = too low

4.92ft (1.5m) - puts the bottom of the D8 at ~ 6' 6" = too high

Thanks everybody for providing your feedback, keep it coming!

Great looking system. Now PLEASE get some pictures of it in action!

Thanks,

Joe

The Dyna is sound active too? You mean the thing will perform an action while in use? Can you see the sound waves come out? Does it dance around? WOW!! What a system!!

:sqwink:

sarge if you listen really close you will instantly begin seeing it perform sort of like magic. It creates the illusion of dancing and Iam quite sure I saw soundwaves flowing out of it even in the dark showroom. Ask PM as he was equally impressed.

Kat, that is very nice trussing and just the right size. My 'certified goldsmith' brain tells me that their 0.08" thick walled main chords are in fact 2mm thick. That is the same thickness that Global uses on there 12" box truss, meaning that this is VERY STRONG stuff. The also have fantastic length-adjustable pieces to make corners from. Nice!

How did a thread about my beloved Dynacord turn into a love-fest for lighting and truss??? Yuck.:sqlaugh:

I say sell all the lighting and buy more loudspeakers!

Seriously though...Keith, I dig the "naked look too, but I think you should powdercoat the truss black....THAT would look sweet!

Actually Mike I was thinking the same thing. the minitrussing will be the best and perhaps in black.

Yes Heath I know.... I think we could swing it IF you buy a Cobra system that is :sqwink:

Kat

How about all the stuff XA stuff I have? I've never even got a sticker!

As for the D-Lite 1002 system, sorry Mike, but if he's putting the speakers up on truss stands, it's still part of the system, so warrants discussion. ;-)
