MBLV 2011...was it worth it?

As an exhibitor (DJEP) it was definitely worth it. There was consistent traffic and the turnouts for the seminars in the demo room were better than expected.

As an attendee, I heard there were a few great seminars (SEO), good seminars (Mark Ferrell, Randy Bartlett). The nighttime entertainment was good (Warrant, Village People, Naughty By Nature, Cupid).

The host hotel is slightly improved with the addition of the British Pub. It was kinda' bland, but the Crisps with dipping sauce and beverage selection was good. I (thankfully) didn't have to resort to the Riviera Buffet. Best quote of the show "How can they screw up bacon?" in regards to the Riviera Buffet. My room was nice, acceptable, and quiet.

Transportation into and around Vegas was easy and inexpensive as always.

The networking was great this year. Made it to some private dinners with some folks.

As far as the exhibit floor...there were lots of LED lighting exhibits. I was told there were SIX photobooth exhibitors. The showbag was extremely weak this year. There were about 5 inserts in it.

Putting on the seminars/demo room at the show, I have a renewed respect for the hard work that Mobile Beat puts into producing the show.

I greatly enjoyed my one night on the town with some locals. We went out to M, located PAST South Point. The hotel was impressive and the buffet is deservedly labeled as the best value is Vegas.

See y'all next year!

I had a good time,,,,, Toys in the hall were fun to check out, I spent a few bucks, not a lot but some with Ben & Kat..... The ADJ lighting booth was too smokey for me,,,, of course lights look great in fog, but ya know,,, come on boys!

The night time shows were fun but nothing mind blowing. I had the best time during the Village People,,, Warrent was just to loud..... Point for next year,,, higher stage so we can see more than the tops of the performers head. LOL

Seminars,, Ted was a disappointment... sorry, he wont be back....

The British pub had a GREAT chocolate cake. Steve Sharp and I and some other sat and talked there one night, should have played some pool!

I don't leave the hotel except to play golf... that was fun.....

I'll answer your question in more detail later, but it is always worth it to me. I'm investing in myself and take away something from the good and the bad.

BTW, a BIG thanks to Chuck and Alan for the goodie bag full of Maui treats. I appreciate you organizing the golf outing, bringing the swag and having to put up riding/play golf with me.

we had fun Keith and the best part you stayed on your feet the whole time! :tritongue:

Working a vendor booth, I'll echo what Troy said (also the bacon quote was mine, too!) It was great to show and sell products at the show, and network with friends, both new and old!

After breaking down the booth Thursday, I took Chuck offsite for a buffet I find to be remarkably better than the Riv's. Not as good as the M, though.

And Mahalo for that Steve,,, it was good and yes, other than golf it was the one time I lefty the building! LOL,,, The drive home was a bear,,,, flat tire? Did ya pack that Mai Tai? LOL

@ Rob - jokerswild. I brought you back a @*#%@& (insert your favorite controller manufacturer) T-Shirt compliments of Steve Sharp.

Steve, the one you gave me is being paid forward. I don't own that brand but Rob does. He'll wear it proudly.

I'd have sent ya one, Rob!

I still have and wear the one ya sent a few years back... thanks btw!

Funnily I actually don't own any Hercules stuff.... but, I do like swag ;)

Chuck is right. The stage could have been higher and the ADJ did use tooooooo much fog. Sometimes you couldn't see the products.

No, it wasn't worth it because Eddie, Coreen and I weren't there.. :p :sqwink:

It was awesome. We had a great time and learned a lot. We went to every seminar possible. I feel like I got information overload with how much we had to take in. My brother and I both each took over 20 pages of notes.

I agree that the ADJ booth had too much fog, but the vender to the left of the Chauvet Stage was even worse. We could hardly breath during the Thrill Da Playa show and the last day during the give aways.

The concerts were all great. We will definately be back again next year.

Everybody was really nice to us. Thanks

Sorry if my little brother offended anyone with his "creepy DJ" coment at the one seminar. I wanted to punch him right there. He wasn't reffering to anyone at the seminar or on the forums though. He was talking about the DJs that have been doing our school dances.
