Looks like my van was stolen.

Here's the wild part. Yesterday the monthly payment was paid and the insurance. So that's a big whammy. So I got a call telling me they found the van in Irvington, NJ. I got the police report and went to MTS towing today where the van was at.

The lady for the insurance company told me to let Geico come and tow it. That way I didn't have to pay the towing and storage fees. So they will come and get it.

So the stuff in the van is gone. I got 2 wires that were left and that's it.

What they did was cut the steering wheel to get the club off and bust the ignition. I did see they messed up the passenger seat and they got the stuff out of there. I didn't have enough time to carefully look over the van because I was getting a ride and they were I'm a hurry. Lesson learned.

So I should have the van back soon I guess. That's it for now but DJ Macho Man is not giving up on DJing.
It’s would be the perfect time to retire and not invest anymore money into a business that is just a hobby and not profitable, you know enough DJs to be a special guest DJ at a lot of events and with self proclaimed fame you should be a big draw for those events

Had the least be loaned equipment to use by all your partners? Now that I think about it, I won't loan you any of my equipment.

What items were stolen?

Mix,

Sorry to hear this happened to you. My sister had her Ford Explorer stolen like 2.5 years ago. They found her EZ Pass down in TEXAS! It was stolen from Maryland. The Vehicle was never found. She had a big ordeal with getting the police reports to the insurance company. THe car was tagged in Delaware so she had a Delaware police report, and a Maryland one. Then she had a hell of a time finding the title. She had mis placed it. Without the title, and a pair of keys, and the police report they would not cut a check for the vehicle. It took her a very long time to finally get a payment for the Explorer. A lot of that was her own procrastination though to be honest. When her car was stolen, a total of 5 different cars were stolen from a parking lot in the back of a shopping center.

Anyway, DO NOT go and spend thousands of dollars on un needed new equipment. You can build a micro system that is light weight, and exactly what you need for the events that you do.

Just like I thought they used it for the crime and dump it. Understand this, they know you are a DJ and put/leave equipment in the van. They might even know where you live already. They will definitely be keeping an eye on the van and they may even visit your home at a later date. You better get a good alarm for the van and a alarm for your place. As they know you are DJ and there is DJ entertainment they are interested in. Since they dumped the van that equipment is what they were after.

Check pawn shops close to your house and where the van was found. If you see something that looks like yours compare serials and call the police or if you have the receipt just leave with it

Hope you are having a better day Adrian. Time to jump on Reverb music , EBay & Facebook market .

Hello everybody and thanks for all your posts on this thread. I deserve anything that was said here.

Friday I got a ride to a meeting with 2 members and after that went to the Al-inon club and played cards. That helped me laugh and feel a little better.

Saturday went to a meeting celebration. Caught 2 buses there and got a ride home.

I got a text message saying the claims adjuster was going to the yard to assess the condition of the van and contact me after that.

I don't want to tell everything that was taken because that will only make me more upset than I am right now. It looks like the van can be fixed. I was given a suggestion to put up Gofundme page and see if I can get help that way. My God son can do that.

Anyway I'm feeling better then I was. Nowhere near where I want to be. I told God with his help I was coming back. It will just take a while. Keep me in your prayers please. I will survive. Just a valuable lesson learned. Stop being lazy. Me and my partner were being lazy. Anyhow have a blessed day all of you at Ourdjtalk.

I’m praying for you. I pray that you make better decisions.

Bad things can happen to anyone. But they happen more when bad decisions are routine. Storing all of the equipment you need to run a business in a van on the street would be a bad decision.

Getting much bigger equipment than you need so you can’t set up an event yourself would be a bad decision.

Buying an old van to carry that equipment around would be a bad decision

Not learning how to market/sell your business properly so you can make money didn’t help.

Everyone has made a decision that turned out bad. No one’s perfect. When you LEARN from those decisions and make better ones in the future, it leads to much better odds of success.

I do wish you the best of luck. But the vast majority of any “luck” will be fueled by your decisions. I’m hoping you find some comfort in that, because you have control over it.

Best of luck Adrian. Not trying to be nosey or anything but if you put up some of your gear that has been stolen some of the guys/girls here might have some old equipment that they can donate to you, or sell at a good price to get you back on your feet.

I’d be willing to help, and I’ve spoken to a brother, and a cousin on Long Island that would be willing to help if they have extra that you need.

Hell, I just purchased a controller last week for a young kid that wants to learn how to dj but couldn’t afford it. Not bragging, but just letting you know that people are willing to help others out.

Let is know bro. But going forward you have to find a better way to store your gear.

Did you lose your laptops and your music?
