baffled that you would even post this here ...considering the entire board makes fun of you for sitting while dj'ing...maybe with a few more inner private thoughts instead of "posts" you could save us all the trouble of coming up with new witty ways to rag on you...

I'm surprised at how you are still a DJ. LOL. Those chairs are adjustable. So it's not what you think.

Steve the event is for a 30 year celebration for a member. So I won't be standing the whole time. People will want to say something so that will take up some of the time .
It doesn't matter what type event it is. If you want a 'comfortable' chair, then you need to give it up. A 'comfortable' chair is not something that should be at an event .. nor is it the image you want customers to have. If you refuse to hear what you're being told, then 'comfortable' = lazy boy. Pick one up and bring it to your events.

Sorry you feel that way but I'm talking about a DJ chair and not a chair that reclines. I don't know how old you are. I just know I'm 61and can't do the same things I used to do when I was in my 20's when I first got started. All I know is I'm not ready for the retirement home or hanging up the headphones.

I picked it up yesterday and will set it up on Saturday. Now that doesn't mean I will be using it the entire time. There are times when people will want to give a speech and I know the person the event is for will want to speak.

Guys, lets give him break. Everyone knows all the best DJs sit at their gigs. You also know that the clients spending big money want to see a DJ chair behind the DJ table. It is an impressive look.

I hear that Arnoldo uses one...

Got an event to do in Jersey City this Saturday and it's a long one for me. I will cover it but at my age I like the time for the event to be no more than 5 hours due to my age and my health. This one is 5-11pm and I was thinking I need to get a DJ chair so I can be really comfortable. I can use a fold up chair but for this event and future events I would like to use a DJ chair. That way I'm not standing too much and can be comfortable while working.
!

That's what you need more stuff to carry. I haven't been to a venue that doesn't have chairs is that common in Jersey?

If the gig is upstairs, I know just the thing!

Those things drive me up the wall

Sorry you feel that way. You will never see a 'comfortable' chair in a 'professional' capacity. Age has nothing to do with it. If you can't do things the same, then you need to give it up .. otherwise, stop fussin' and do what's expected of a professional.

I used to rarely use a chair but since the heart trouble and back problems I will use one a little bit maybe 20% of the night. At first it was closer to 80% of the night. Eventually I will get rid of it again. The two things I believe I've learned is any chair that is comfortable wouldn't be of any use in that situation and I really think this is a thing we put on ourselves I don't think clients even notice

I refuse to sit down. I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but sitting down while DJing just looks unprofessional and lazy. If your going to do anything, get one of the above chairs that sits high enough that it appears you are just leaning on something as opposed to sitting down.

Steve I'm not concerned about people seeking me using that chair. I'm interested in being comfortable while doing my job.

Okay....if you want to approach it that way...

then stop posting comments that force you to defend yourself.
And PLEASE stop making threads, wondering why you can't get gigs, or better paying gigs.
