Got an event to do in Jersey City this Saturday and it's a long one for me. I will cover it but at my age I like the time for the event to be no more than 5 hours due to my age and my health. This one is 5-11pm and I was thinking I need to get a DJ chair so I can be really comfortable. I can use a fold up chair but for this event and future events I would like to use a DJ chair. That way I'm not standing too much and can be comfortable while working.

All I can say about this event is I will be the DJ doing this entire event and it should be a lot of fun for both me and the people attending the event. I will be picking up the chair later today after my doctor's appointment. Hope all of you had fun on Christmas Day. I certainly did!

DJ chair, huh???... Never heard of such a thing. I have a DIRECTOR’S chair that folds up and packs into a 7”x7”x30” bag. I like it because it’s tall, so keeps me at the same height as if I was standing. Using a Director’s chair is apropos since I’m usually directing when I DJ anyway.😄

It was something like this but I thought I remember it being a little taller

If you can't properly do the event because of your age and health, don't book the event. It's not fair to the client.
The client and the guests won't be shortchanged. Things will be fine. Just got to make sure I'm comfortable. Nothing wrong with that. My friend that DJs has one. I used to have one but it got broken.

Just use one of the venue's chairs ... it's not like you're going to be able to hide it ..

Steve I'm not concerned about people seeking me using that chair. I'm interested in being comfortable while doing my job.

DJ chairs shouldn't necessarily be "comfy" .. the goal is to use them the least possible .. not to DJ from them. As mentioned, if you need to sit the entirety of your time, maybe it's time to pass the reins onto someone else ...

Steve the event is for a 30 year celebration for a member. So I won't be standing the whole time. People will want to say something so that will take up some of the time .

baffled that you would even post this here ...considering the entire board makes fun of you for sitting while dj'ing...maybe with a few more inner private thoughts instead of "posts" you could save us all the trouble of coming up with new witty ways to rag on you...

Guys, lets give him break. Everyone knows all the best DJs sit at their gigs. You also know that the clients spending big money want to see a DJ chair behind the DJ table. It is an impressive look.
