Unfortunately the pioneer sx3 does not come with any software,,,, I guess they have a big part of that market share to where they don’t need any incentives!
Yep,,,, your right. I went to guitar center yesterday to buy a used sx2 (400$) vs a display sx2 (800$) both of these did not come with the software. Both were used, so I would have bought the protection plan (150$). I jjust went for the new sx3 at (1k) with no protection plan.

I haven’t bought protection plans on controllers. Not a bad idea. Never had to have one repaired. Just like anything else, it will eventually fail... you just never know when and how much it will cost to fix. I have lots of controllers though (until I sell some), so I’m not gonna be stuck with having none if one is out for repairs.
I tend NOT to buy any protection plan .. cars, appliances, whatever. I figure if they can make money on these, I'll take the gamble and pay for repairs as they come up. I have enough backup gear that it wouldn't be much of an issue.
The only "program" I buy is Canon's Pro camera one (CPS). For $100 a year, I get a few free cleanings and priority service for my bodies and lenses.
