Lighting Truss vs Lighting Stand

This is my current setup. I am currently trying to find a way to run the power cord and the computer cord through the light poles to clean it up even more.

There a little wire issue..but you need some slack to have movement to place the lights where you need them. This is why I was thinking it would be cool to have another wrap, such as velcro or something custom made to hide that as well.

I was also thinking of getting a custom computer skin with my new logo made for a bit of advertising.

I don't know where you guys are getting that a truss takes more room. My photo above; 2 stands...thats it....nestled between is a 4 foot cart.

2 T bars, 2 speaker stands.....what takes more room? 2 speaker stands and one t bar....more room, if you're setting up the T to the side....To the back, you've got sight issues....

That being said...Randy's set up does look look nice....Bear in mind...How many wedding venues can you spread the speakers that far apart....

I guess when I re read it a bit better, yes...two stands vs two stands. So yea..I guess really, that is about dead on.

Believe it or not, I have worked at some upscale venues where they will not let you bring in any lighting. (they say it cheapens the event)

Weird! Isn't it supposed to be what the customer wants? Whos renting the space? Who else would see whats there at that particular time other than the customer and his/her guests? Was that first communicated to the customer/client?
