Hi Guys, I'm looking to add 2 multi effect lasers this spring.
This is the best I have found so far and I can get them here in Canada. Have you seen anything better? I would prefer product with North American warranty. Thanks!

One word, X-Laser! Forget the made in China crap! I replaced my new Mobile Beat MKII ILDA green animation laser with an expensive full colour one. If you'd like, I will sell you my MKII for $400 Canadian. It comes in the original box andlooks like NEW. Cold beam technology is the way to go. Too bad you just missed a wicked good deal on QuickShow software on this site...

Here is a video by X-Laser on it:

Here it is in action at a school dance:

Steve, I honestly don't know why  our dollar is down since our economy is stellar compared to across the line. I think it's all political and not really financial at all. Obama is screwing everything up for us too! :usa2: When are you guys going to get rid of him?

SOME of us have been trying for 4.5 years...........

Thanks Maestro for the offer. I forgot to add that I'm doing weddings only so green laser won't cut.
Unfortunately x-laser does not make multi effect lasers and that's what I'm after...
The Cr lasers are made in China but they have reps here in Canada and I had a chance to play with them.

anzyxx, if you are going to use it for weddings, from my experience, there is only one option. That is to use an RGB laser and QuickShow software to control it. If you are not prepared to do that, I wouldn't waste your time and money. I started with the green laser and switched to the RGB so I could use it at weddings. Controlling it with the software allows me to do some AMAZING things with it. Why not buck-up and get the X-Laser MK5 RGB like I did?

I know how the Canadian reps are, they love to shine the high powered lasers right into the crowd. Jon Tuck and I went to a demo here in Vancouver a few years back where the 'back east' distributor was showing off his wares. Jon and I didn't know much about lasers at the time and trusted the professionals putting on the show. We were just standing there with countless others while staring into the direction of the 1W Microh RGB laser, mesmerized as all the pretty colors of the tunnels and other effects engulfed us. Honestly, it was SO COOL! I'm not sure if it was that experience or me turning 40 that made my eyesight go downhill not too long after but wearing reading glasses SUCKS let me tell you!

I guess what I'm trying to say, is don't trust Canadian sales people when it comes to lasers, spend the money and buy something good. You will NOT regret it!

Here is my laser in use at a wedding... It only flickers on the video because the frame rate of the camera cannot keep up to the laser's galvanometer. It looks great in person.

Hey Guys,

Laser-noob here; why not use the green laser at a wedding? Too powerful? Wrong color-scheme?

Here's a little bit I learned from the X-Laser guys in Vegas...

Do NOT buy a laser from an overseas manufacturer, especially a high powered laser. Odds are they will be illegal to operate. Lasers can be fired towards a crowd, but at least here in the US, they have to jump through a ton of hoops to prove that it's safe to do so.

My question is regarding the mentions of "not using the green laser at a wedding;" I was just wondering what the specific reason for this concept was. What would be different about using a red or blue laser at a wedding? Somebody help me out here...

GJ

Weddings are color schemed with the color NOT being green 99% of the time. Also, green just looks too technical, not pretty. Remember the old PC monitors with green text? Brides want pretty. You could get away with blue if the weddings had blue in its color scheme.

Ah, so it's a color-scheme thing. I wasn't sure if some bride was blinded or burnt to a crisp by a green laser or something...

Yes, I am old enough to remember those monitors. And floppy disks. And even the first Texas Instruments electronic calculators (hundreds to even thousands of dollars!). Times do change!

Hi
You definitely can get burnt by a high powered laser, especially a cheap Chinese built one like many DJs use. I use X-Laser units only. They are simply awesome in their build quality.

As much as I like x-laser unfortunately they don't make multi effect lasers. And that's what I'm after.
This is what I will probably buy...They are Chinese, but not cheap...

oh, and software...

I have already pre-sold them to a few Brides, for some reason they don't want monograms lately, even from lasers... Don't want rave lights either, but that laser makes impression....And it will look good with uplights.
