LED bar-type fixtures

I have 3 Chauvet colorstrips. They're getting pretty beat up and ready to be replaced. To be honest, I haven't been using them much at all and even rarely use my acrobats but I'm thinking of going back to a wash light for the dance floor. Am wondering how these newer, smaller bar type fixtures compare (in brightness) to the colorstrips? Anybody?

I have the colorstrip mini - and though it does put out some light, it's probably not as much as the colorstrip. I would think 'similar size' lights are on par (pun intended) with each other. Lights like the Chauvet Color Palette might put out a little more light.

I run a pair of the mini colorstrips on a tbar and think its just about the right amount. I do prefer a darker floor, so I typically bounce them off the ceiling.

I use the Gig Bar,,, love mine,,, it's got two "wash" lights and 2 little effects and a lazer that I usually just point up to the ceiling. There are 4 little "strobes" on the front but I usually have gaff tape over at least 2 of them if not all... there are pluses and minuses, but all in all I like it.

I use this for most of my events which are around 100-150 peeps,,, Just to put a little color on the dance floor... but even a bigger party, just lighting on the dance floor.

I made a BIG mistake when I bought the lights I'm currently using. When I decided to start my DJ business, my daughter said; "You can't be a DJ because you don't have any lights". She was right to some degree; most all the DJ's in this market have "some" lights. I looked at the 4 Bar and some others and decided I could do better by buying a few cool lights. The mistake I made was buying too many effect lights and not enough wash lights.
I also wish I had purchased all DMX capable lights. As a noob, I was afraid I would be too busy mixing music and did not want to add the distraction of running a light show, so I run all my lights on sound active right now. Frankly, my light show is pretty boring and has too many little dots flying all over the place. My plan now is to buy a nice color wash light bar and add one (or two at the most) effect lights. The best thing I did was buy two Mini Kinta's; these are GREAT lights.

I've been considering purchasing the Showcube from Eternal Lighting. 20 hour Battery life and No wires needed. 10 lights that can be aimed where needed, should work out pretty awesome. Not cheap but i think it might be well worth it. I picked up 20 of the Cube Echos from Ben awhile back and i've been extremely happy with them. Going wireless is one of the greatest things i've ever done for the business

That's actually a pretty good option. I had not considered going completely wireless, but I like the idea. $850 is a good chunk of change; I could handle that though, and perhaps I can find a dealer who offers a discount of some sort? Thanks, Loneavenger, for giving me something to think about!

I bought a Colorstrip when I first started. I downsized my lighting rig a bit, and replaced it with a Colorstrip mini.
Enough light for most venues, but I still bring the full size light for larger gigs.
The production company uses the Chauvet Colordash for gigs. These put out a lot of light for their size.
I believe they were sold under Chauvet Professional, and I think they are discontinued.
I just realized what a worthless post I just wrote.
