Is Barry Manilow Washed Out?

Just turned 60 and still going strong. Plan on doing what I love until I can't. I joke with my assistant that there will come a day when she'll have to push my wheel chair up to the table and turn up the oxygen. So what if I end up playing in the nursing home where I live. Only you decide when you are done, not other people.
I want to have my fingers super glued to the cross fader and buried with the mixer and a pair of headphones on my head that way when they unfreeze me I can plug into whatever system of the future is relevant.

I'll relax on my boat with a beer and some hot young chick, while you folks entertain me from the nursing home... :D

ok Rick pay for my airfare, put me up in a hotel and i'll do your show for free!!

As long as people are willing to book me and pay my rate, I'll keep entertaining . Manilow waxed up.? C'mon, he continues to perform to sell out crowds.
The Rolling Stones continue selling out 80,000 seat arenas, as they approach their 50th Anniversary. And they continue to turn out hit albums.

I don't believe in classifying anyone in this industry based on their age.
Hell, George Burns performed up to his 100th birthday.
Bob Hope, and Frank Sinatra performed successfully as Octogenarians.

Rock on!

What age do define as"old"?

The point at which you think you can still do something well, but it only exists in your mind, and younger people humor you.

Most people are incapable of looking at themselves in the mirror truthfully -- they exist in their minds, not what they have become...

Last July or August...

That reminds me -- I haven't done a photo shoot this year... :sqerr:

I don't feel like packing stuff today -- let me grab some beers and the camera, figure out some way to hide the poison ivy, and we'll get film rolling...

When you say packing, you mean a move to Florida?

Any chance you'll be down there by early September?

Yes to the first -- not sure on the timing yet though. I'm looking at my inventory of crap I've accumulated, and figuring costs. Some stuff will be cheaper to sell, then to move...

Did I mention I hate packing and moving...? :D

Rick I still have some of those CD cases I found when moving out East. Would you like my limited supply? Case Logic.

Right now, I don't think I'll need them... I've got most of them boxed up already, and a lot in those Case Logic book type things, that hold 200 a shot.

Almost all have been ripped into WAV format, and are backed up on multiple drives, so I shouldn't have to pull them out again...

Thanx anyway... :)
