I have been waiting for somebody to name that tune!

I guess we are just a bunch of old geezers who remember the Bonanza Theme!
 
I prefer instrumentals.
the lyrics of a TV theme tend to be a little silly...
and wear on you after a few decades.
but the instrumentals never lose their charm

my favorites:
Mission Impossible
Munsters
I Love Lucy (but only cause my wife watches it all the time)
 
I'll play. I have always liked this Show, its Theme and the Artist Who Plays it. Bob James.

If you're talking about fun to listen to or sing, I'd go with "Cheers" or the the Spiderman or Underdog cartoon themes.

If you're talking about cool MUSIC, It's going to be the sax theme from "Mike Hammer" ( Harlem Nocturne) or the theme from "Peter Gunne".

Theme from Auf Wiedersehn Pet [Thats Livin Alright - Joe Fagin] an 80s British TV comedy series about a bunch of UK brickies that go & work in Germany.
 
Hmmm, the title says best and everybody posts favorites.

Musically speaking, I think the theme from The Jetsons is an amazing song. Get past the lyrics and listen to the music.

Not my favorite, but I think one of the best composed theme songs.

I posted both. I truly think Harlem Nocturne and Peter Gunn are two of the best pieces of music out there. The Peter Gunn theme as surely withstood the test of time..
