Just got an email I was expecting from a referral. The potential client asked me if I have any opera.... Well, no, I actually do not have any opera other than one CD by Andrea Boccelli.

Anyway in her email, she said that if I get her wedding, she would like to hear about 5 or 6 opera songs..... and not all during dinner / cocktail.

Yeah, that oughtta play well.... ;)

I'm a bad DJ.... I know nothing of opera.

I did a wedding last year where the entire dinner hour was classical and it was fine... Now, to insist on opera pieces during the dance portion, well...

AMEN ZAC!
I love that mentailty.
"....gee...WE love to hear songs from Bizet's Carmen. So all of our friends and relatives will love it, too!"

I don't think it matters much. We talked on the phone, and I don't think she liked me asking about playing opera during open dance time, and I don't think she liked my take on it... I highly doubt she will be calling me back.

Sometimes clients mix up Opera with Classical. If not sure ask for a couple of examples and that will give you a better idea. I hope she calls back. I love Opera and Classical. Remakes of Classical just won't fly at an event like this one.

In fact that is true... but she wants opera... she sings in a local opera group.

But I am 99% sure the window is closed on this one, as I could tell by our phone conversation.

somehow, Chuck
you don't seemed to be REAL upset about losing this one.

I know I wouldn't
