Thanks for you making this thread and I can say this. I was nervous about doing that event because it was my first time doing such an event. Once I got into it, I was fine. We both did a nice job. Got another event to do on December 2nd for my GF's Aunt who will be 87. I'm a little nervous because I have never done an event for her and it's her family.
Some are going to be there to check out her BF and to if I will do a good job. All will be well. She told me the music they want and it will be a breeze. As I like to say because I've been doing this for so long, wish me good skills and not good luck.

Yes, but did he get paid? And if so, how many "partners" did he have to split it with?
This is a ridiculous question, every gig is free he knows everyone so it’s always for someone he’s known forever or or some f friends friend, I can’t imagine how full my calendar would be if i didn’t charge

I will answer your questions not that I need to just to feed your ego. The one I remember was August 26th. The pay was $450 jn Branch Brook Park. It's an event we do annually. We split the money and the event started at 11AM till 7PM. I know that's months since we did a paid event.
Honestly we need to advertise. Next week I plan on getting a free Yelp listing for the FB business page. My sister's BF is going to help me out since I don't know how to get it done. Is that good enough for you?
You always talk about how long you have been DJing, honestly with that length of time and how good you claim to be you should easily be all referrals by now, all of these past clients should be mentioning how great of a job you did anytime someone brings up needing a DJ,

Right now I'm going to a sub committee meeting today and t h ey are working on a learning day. They want me to do something at the learning day. My issue right now is figuring out when I'm going to call the doctor to see about getting my right hip replacement surgery. I can feel it's time to find out what I need to do. That would mean I will be out of commission for roughly 3 months. Maybe less. I had the left hip done in 2019.

No problem with asking for help if it's available. My issue is for that party my partner can't make it. So I'm doing it myself. Since it's just me doing it, I don't like someone that's not connected to our business helping out because I don't want to risk someone getting hurt. This one I may ask for help.

Amazing how Mixy just skips over the pain pill comments. I guess he didn't realize that he broke the law using someone else’s prescription medication. But god forbid a bride smokes a little REEFER.
I know you said a little REEFER. If you owned a venue would it be OK if someone smoked a little REEFER in your venue? I know a lot of people look at POT as not a big deal. I know personally for me it was a gate way drug. Once I got tired of smoking weed I went to using something else.
