If a client asked you for a copy of the playlist, would you give it to them?

To many ads? Support ODJT and see no ads!
Cmon, I know you want that list.
I can give you a list to play, but it's not going to be cheap.
You would have to say my name through your gig.
Say DJ Mello provided me with tha list.

The list will include title and artists, as well as the time it started playing, and side-bar comments as necessary.



Thanks for this thread. It never occurred to me to post the lists on my website. I'm going to start doing that....

If I had the means to provide it, I would, but I don't load the software library. I drag and drop from windows into it. No history file is created and I'm not about to recall everything I played. I really don't see where it matters or how it would serve as a sales tool. All functions are different and at the end of them, all that matters is the client's satisfaction.
 
I used to get this scam from some clients.
Can you send me a mix tape of your performance.

It appears that this had nothing to do with a client. RR wanted the list from a DJ he subbed out to do the job, if I read it correctly... ;)

As it turns out, if you read from the middle of the thread, you are correct, but that "bit-o-data" was omitted/left out/not included in the OP AND the inquiry was/is entitled "If a client asked you for a copy of the playlist [sic], would you give it to them?".

Tain't baiting and softjock got it correct. I was the "client" in this case and wanted a listing of what was played, just in case the client had any questions or reservations. The whole thing just cause me bizarre that the sub would be standing me, his paying client, down over the playlist. CYA.

If I'm not mistaken, a big part of google's code looks for volume of written material on the site as well as duplicated text. Playlists provide a huge boost of material and are naturally unique from week to week. Yea, you might have some DIY brides that steal some lists but those people are clients anyway. I'll take google rankings any day of the week over fear of giving away my winners.
 
I've had a few people ask, and I provided it via email no problem.

I also really like the fact that the computers keep track of the songs. I did have a bride say the DJ didn't play "any of her songs". I emailed her the list of songs she provided, along with the actual playlist which showed all of her songs played. I think I should start putting a warning on my contracts....something like:

.Warning: The Surgeon General has determined that drinking like a fish and spending half of your wedding reception outside smoking will cause you to not remember every song that was played

oh and if I did keep a list then it would be mine

I dont give it out, no one has ever asked for one
if they do they can write them all down and save me the trouble on typing them out

oh and I still use CDs here, so thats why I dont keep a computerized list...
