WARNING PURE OPINION APPROACHING:
Table top facades ...or as i like to call them... A day at the science fair.
IMnotsoHO, I hold table top facades in the same regard as I do the chicken feet speaker stands or the monumentally more unattractive skirted chicken feet speaker stands...yuck.

YMMV

Dang, y'all are messed up! I started thinking "Hmmm, it's Wing Wednesday at the local wing place!" Then looked to see how much time until I'm off work and realized it was Thursday! Good news is my weekend is 1 day closer, bad news is either pay more or wait till next week.

And I bring subs and pole mount the tops because I like the look better. Even if I have to dial the subs "left and light" instead of "right and tight" for the space I am in.

i will probably get a second sub soon and do something similar... but i mostly put my moving heads on sticks... much easier and lighter than lugging the full sized truss totems....

Yeah, I still have T-bars for the lights but try to hide them as much as possible behind the subs or up against. Would love to get some totems, but first need to get better moving heads and some battery powered uplights, then will worry about that.
my totems are only in my top tier light package... its about 20 to 30 minutes added on to set up time...so a bit of a pain when cramped for time

Are you still in NJ? Was curious what you got and what it looked like. You were going to send a pic this morning. Is it plexi or lycra or padded? What size table does it have? I have always had a scrim and just tried to keep cables clean, but considering a facade....didn't know one could be had for under $102. Was that with tax or before?
Lycra and it doesn't come with a table. We have 2 tables. Got to remember to get some more Velcro tomorrow..

Thanks for giving me that idea when I get time to get another moving head like the one I got. Haven't used it in a long time. I will use it this Saturday along with 2 more lights. My issue is trying to find another one like it since it's been discontinued. Get the skirts for the speaker stands.

I wouldn't make a separate thread for this here. I'm going to use my old backup laptop to DJ with this Saturday. My main laptop I'm not sure if it got water damage. So I'm going to the backup laptop. Had to get a battery as I don't know what happened to the one that was with it. I let the ex use it and don't know what.

I went to Staples and they don't carry laptop batteries. This is after going to Micro Center. They were out of them. Went to Office Depot and they wanted $149. Plus they would have to order it. I remembered a place on Route 22 East that I have been to called Best Bet. I went there and got one for $39. Of course it's used but I know I wasn't going to $149 for a new one for that old laptop. My guess is it's 8-10 years old. It will do fine this Saturday. I know it's old, Windows 7. Yet it's still working. I know some would upgrade. My thing is I only use it to DJ with. Nothing super fancy.

What do you mean you're not sure if it got water damage? Are you saying it doesn't work?

Why does the backup computer not have a battery? Why is the Ex using backup equipment (or any, really)?

You have “BACKUP” gear that doesn’t work??? How is that a backup???... There’s a word for a backup laptop that doesn’t work. It’s called “SPARE PARTS”!!! OK... two words.
