I learned years ago to get the unlimited plan they have. Unlimited everything. I learned that because I used to get the cheapest plan thinking I was only going to pay that much and would wind up with a bill of say $100 a month instead of $40. Sprint would charge I believe 40 cents a minute when you went over your minutes. Of course they wouldn't tell you when you were about to go over so they could make the extra money. So you would keep talking as your bill would go higher and higher. I decided to go unlimited and forget it. That way I don't have to worry about going over at all. Only other thing I pay for is if I use 411 and get a call to go through. That's it.

Unlimited everything is not always the way to go. You need to understand your typical usage. Paying more each month to avoid a possible charge doesn't always make sense. With our company plan, we had a 40 phones that were unlimited data. But by switching to a combined data package, we saved about $400 a month. Each phone was averaging about 1 gig per month. The package we changed to was enough average 2 gigs per phone. If we do go over, we pay $10 a gig, so we could use 3 gigs per phone and still break even.

Or we could pay $400 more and stay on "unlimited"
