Umm...I was told there would be no math on this board.

atomicfission92 made a reply in a thread I started.... and I replied that I can store ALL of my Dj gear in about 60 SF.... How about you?

Right now we can store everything in about a 3x8' area, or 24 sqft .That is tightly packed and stacked about 7' high. We are getting either a 6x10 or a 6x12 trailer to fit all the upcoming items we are buying.

huh ?

Hmm... I see "mine's bigger than yours" potential... Better go get the ruler. :sqlaugh:

I was about to say Valerie will win, hands down, however she beat me to it.

It varies. But I guess that cubic feet would be a better representation of how much 'space' is required. But I'll put it this way - with very few exceptions - I do my events out of a Mazda Miata (MX-5) pulling a 3 1/2 x 4 trailer. If I don't use the Bose, I can actually do a ceremony AND reception out of that and have room left over. If I use the Bose and require a second PA system, I have to great 'creative' with the ceremony system. And if I do uplighting I rent a vehicle to do it out of.

All in all, it all depends.. :) But I have a 10x10 'storage' room that's also my studio in my home. I have 3 6' shelving units with equipment, 3 separate PA systems, subs, a 42U cabinet with gear, my gig rig, mighty gig rig, and a lot of other stuff in there. But I make due. ;)

I have 4 different setups/ power ratings. Speakers have to take up the most room. My storage building is 10 x 18, with a second level split ( space in the middle for access) of 10 x13. so 310 square feet. It's full, but some of that is replacement parts and an 2x8 repair bench, plus wall shelves for components, wire, screws, and supplies..

I don't think Valerie has much to worry about....:sqerr:

I really don't know. But I do know that the gear takes up a lot less storage space since I sold off almost all of my old gear last month.:sqwink:

I can get everything in a 10 X 10 X 8 foot storage bin if I stack it tight!

But I use a 10 X 20 X 8 with a door on each end, this allows me a 3 foot wide walkway down the center so I can pull out what I need without unloading half of the bin.

This does not include the systems that I have set up in bars that stay there for regular gigs but I am down to three of those so we are talking about 2 18" subs, 2 215 mains and 3 amps for one system and a sub and two 10" mains with a single amp for the second system and two powered RCF speakers for the third, even with these and what is in the studio it would still all fit in a 10 X 20 storage bin.

Getting rid of the old DTH system meant a lot less space being used!
