Maybe you can use Randy's voice? (Actually, Jeff probably has the right voice over voice).

According to FB stats video gets played almost 3 times as often as a picture gets clicked.

I like the ad but I wonder if a video with YOUR pics and a decent voice over on top of royalty free music wouldn't be more effective?

I plan to be trying both approaches. For whatever reason though, I saw an animation vid and it just clicked with me. I think the animation stuff is a bit more entertaining than just pics from our portfolio. I will have to try one with a voice over. Either way, I'm becoming convinced that adwords/fb ads are probably a better use of revenue than WW or TK.

I would agree with you....at least you have control over your own destiny and if you're willing (and I know you are) to do the homework for what works best, it should reap some good rewards.

I seen the animated videos on FB and thought they were cool, but never realized that there might be a company out there to create them in-expensively.

Good, we're even. ;)

There was an ad running on FB of a company who creates the script, does the animation and does the voice-over for $200. I went to googling and apparently there are a number of sites that will let you build your own. PowToon looked like a good platform to me. Tons of pre-made widgets that you can plug into your show plus, the ability to upload voice-overs. Not sure if adwords supports video but I may have to try that one as well. Please keep me informed on your efforts. I'd like to know if these type ads ring your phone like that mush-mush FB ad. Good luck with it.

Update: I ran the video as a "Page Like" ad on facebook. Dismal results, yes after only 2 days, so I pulled it down (1 like after 400 impressions). I then uploaded the video, along with a "SPECIAL DEAL" pitch, then boosted it to my targeted audience. This is basically the same style of ad that I recently ran, which got a lot of attention. The only difference is it has a video instead of the gallery of pics. It'll be interesting to see what happens. Just keeping everyone in the loop.

Oh good Lord. I uploaded that powtoon video to facebook as a "Page Like" ad, no problems, glad to take your money. Today, I uploaded the video as a post with some pitch text, then boosted. Now FB has kicked the ad because they say the thumbnail of the video shows too much text (over 20%). D##% this is frustrating.

I like it. I think "cartoon-y," if that's what it is, works fine. I think you need a logo and tagline for branding, though. Something to lock it in more. Maybe even a musical logo/jingle (?)...

Good suggestions. First, I gotta figure how to get around the FB limitations. I went back and re-posted the finalized edition to youtube, where it lets you pick the thumbnail. I chose one with minimal text on it, then re-posted another FB ad using the youtube video. It's still in review. This is perhaps a good lesson for us all. "Page Like" ads don't seem to work near as well as general posts where you buy a "Boost".
