No, the $99.00 is not out of the question, but it depends on what the $99.00 is buying. For me, and speaking only for me, I just cant justify it with the amount of business I do. Certainly if I was booking more events than I have been, and I was putting forth a more aggressive marketing plan, I would give it serious consideration.

But if you had a more aggressive marketing plan you might be booking more events. IMO A program like SOC would be a perfect fit. It's relatavly inexpensive and proven effective. Think about 20 cards. Ten to former clients and ten to venue managers in your area

People often make the mistake with marketing thier business that they expect instant results. There is no form of marketing that provides instant results aside from an advertised time sale. Marketing isn't about today it's about future results, imaging, and name recognition.

That being said at this time I don't subscribe to SOC. I blew out this years budget and about $1500 more on Oppertunities that came along before I knew about SOC. When I revise next years budget in the early spring SOC will be on my list

Howdy,

With Send Out Cards, I can send out 500 cards, postcards, etc., all personalized to each person with one keystroke. Simple.

Dave:
Cap,

You're a gem.

Dave
Actually, just a lump of coal...until heat and pressure are applied. Then there's a change for sure.

Anything on importing .wab/.pst/.mdb files to become the SOC database?

Cap,

The programs you mention can both have the database exported into Excel. I have loaded an Excel database into SOC with no problem. I'll contact customer service and get the definitive answer and report back....post haste....or....forthwith.

Jeff....no argument here. Other commitments strain the available time I have and I am also not interested in growing my DJ business to such a degree that it becomes "work". I do it part-time and am happy with it. Sure, I'm not to the point where I'm going to turn away a call, but with everything else I'm involved in, I'm not going to dedicate "X" amount of hours daily, drumming up more events.

But I wholeheartedly agree with your synopsis.

The licensing thing is what gets me.
I would love SOC to charge say $39 per year to join and then XX to send out a card, I go to the site, select a card, pay and voila.. you could even keep my card number on file like Amazon so i could do one clicks but the reseller and all that stuff gets caught in the crosshairs and then it becomes easier, not cheaper, but easier to design something print it and put it in the usmail

Can I answer any more queries?

Dave

Yes,

Exactly what is the program SOC and what does it do? What is the purpose? How does it work? Is it just about sending cards to former clients or it is an advertising program?

Thunder,

SOC is a server based contact management system and card library with over 14 thousand choices, and you have the ability to create your own postcards, greeting card and tri-folds. You can also send Amex gift cards, books and food items without ever leaving the house. You can use this program to accomplish all those items and more. I use it to keep track of all the family birthdays, anniversaries and more. You know, all those things that we forget YEAR after Year.

The radio company I work for uses it for clients. I use it for my clients. I can create an advertising campaign or campaigns designed by me. All sent in the mail, in my handwriting, and personally addressed. My competition never see them. I control the message, and my business.

I'd be happy to have you try it on me. Free. Pm me when would be a good time to speak. Besides, I'd get a kick out of saying hello.

Peace,

Dave

ps. Hey....I just noticed I have one gold bar. Cool. Thanks for the rep Y'all.

OK this sounds interesting! I am not looking for a freebie but I will give you a call.

It sounds like it is a lot more than just a card service!

OK I just noticed I have two gold bars, now somebody needs to explain that one to me as well! What are the green, green and gold bars for?

Steve you are now in an all inclusive Gold membership here. It gains you nothing but its cool you have it.

Hey,

How about this: If you sign up for an SOC account, and you don't improve your business, or get an immediate reaction from something you send out, I'll put 100 points into your account. Lets set the time frame at 6 months. Anyone? Bueller?

Dave

ps. When you do start to generate new referrals, you'll be able to visit Ben and Rick and buy more of their stuff. It's a win/win/win!

pss. I'm confident that you wont be needing my 100 points in your account. YOU will see a difference.

Coreen has been busy sending Send Out Cards lately and the positive feedback from our customers has been very encouraging.

We've been sending out a lot of "sneak previews" of their Wedding Photographs by using a few select shots on the cards and the Brides love it!
