You can blame the ownership and management then - not the music. For a business that caters to the public, you really can't stop some people from coming in but not others. This would be considered illegal.
I blamed what I know. It's two things I know that cause problems for a place. The music the DJ plays attracts a certain crowd. So when a place allows a DJ to play that kind of music all night that will attract a bunch of young ones coming in the place. An older crowd of people for the most part don't want to hear that all night. You can blame the ownership and management then - not the music. I find that when it's a mixture of music throughout the night, that's what works best around here. The other thing is who the owner will allow to come in the place. Some don't care who comes in the place. All they see is them making plenty of money. One important thing is a dress code. Some places don't care how you look coming in the place. Just keep the money rolling. When all hell is breaking loose in the place, most will blame the DJ.
This is an interesting topic. Probably doesn't belong in this thread, but interesting.[emoji1] Never worked in a club or bar, but I can imagine it would be thankless work. Unless the club and/or DJ was known for a certain style of music, and had a following of clientele who supported that, trying to please EVERYONE who walks in off the street is darn near impossible. People who are drinking are often not gonna be the most tolerant if the music is not to their liking. When things get rowdy, I can see the DJ getting the blame.

Again sir I'm talking about what I have seen happen. Now some places are strict on how a place is being run and others it's a free for all. Just as long as you have money to spend they don't care. Until it's too late and all hell is breaking loose.Actually, you blame this on music that YOU don't like. Music isn't the problem just because YOU don't like it.

When the Private Place Lounge was open they had certain things that they wouldn't allow in the place. The DJ who played there on Saturday nights named Craig could not play that stuff all night long. He was allowed to play it in the beginning. At a certain time he had to switch the music up. The people running the place knew what they were doing. They didn't want the place turning into a hot mess like the place across the street. The police had to be outside when it was time to close over there to try to keep things peaceful. They didn't even bother with the Private Place Lounge.
I remember one night I was in there playing and a female came in wearing a white shirt. One of the guys working there named Mark told her she had to change and then she could come in. She went to the car and put on something else so she could come in. They had a certain way they ran things and it worked great! Every now and then you might have someone trying to start a fight for whatever reason. It would be quickly dealt with and things back to normal.
What they did was have different things going on at different days as to keep a nice mixture coming in the place. On Saturday nights they did things that way to keep the drama for your mama's out and have a nice mixture in the place of young and old. Some in between.
I get that in order to keep the doors to a place open, the place must make enough money to pay their bills. Just that some places will chase after any money instead of smart money. I'm talking about having a crowd come in that eventually won't turn the place into a zoo and the police repeatedly have to show up because of more drama.
So, she was wearing white so she couldn't enter? Is that a gang color? Or was it after Labor Day?
And you keep referring to this lounge like it is what other businesses should model themselves after. I mean, the owner only allowed what would bring in the right people. Didn't the lounge close? Maybe they chose the wrong people.
And Guitar Center isn't a bar trying to keep bar fights out because of music choice.....or at least not the one here.
first what the owner didn't want along with the managers people coming in like that lady did. It can be gang related. She didn't want to see people coming in there with white tees and Tims on. That element usually will bring in a crowd that you don't want in the place because eventually those people like to start trouble. People fighting in the place tearing things up.So, she was wearing white so she couldn't enter? Is that a gang color? Or was it after Labor Day?

Again it's all about how a place is being run. My partner was telling me about playing in a place in New Brunswick and they wanted nothing but Hip Hop and R & B. I wasn't there. He told me they had 4 big bouncers in the place and they were walking around. They checked people at the door. He said the Hochiee mamas came in the place and guys wearing white tees and Tims were in there as well.Mix, your area must be in it's own special zip code. It seems that all the odd stuff you always discuss happens no where else.
Maybe if you (and it's been suggested MANY times) concentrated your efforts in a different area you would reap better benefits and events and less of all this friggin' drama you always discuss.
It seems 99% of your posts are all about the problems and drama. It's getting a bit tiresome. As always, sorry to be as tad negative....
... Considering this thread was about Guitar Center, then I wonder if they also have bouncers for the white tee & Tim's / Hochiee mama group?...
You're making fun of something serious. Again I said it's about how a place is being run. I've been told to look at another area. The location of a plane means nothing if the place isn't being run right.Note to self - as stated above, people with white tee's and Tim's are bad people and need to be checked. Hochiee mama's are bad and need to be checked too.
I wonder if Red Lobster has bouncers for the white tee & Tim's / Hochiee mama group? Considering this thread was about Guitar Center, then I wonder if they also have bouncers for the white tee & Tim's / Hochiee mama group?
Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Tims is short for Timbaland boots. Don't you know anything man? LOL.I must have missed it earlier (or maybe I'm not in the "know") .. What's a Tim and why are they bad? Is it like a Tim Hortons? Or a Tim Bucktoo?

I guess not, but I hope you mean Timberland. I like Timbaland's music .. not sure I'd trust his boots.Tims is short for Timbaland boots. Don't you know anything man? LOL.
