The usual suspects starting the usual bullsh!t. Why does every DJ forum have to degenerate into pissing contests?

What pissing contest? Or rather which pissing contest!

Exactly when did this forum go from being different to sucking for you?

You really have to pin point the exact time that everything changed for you and then find the root cause of what made that change.

Hey thats mighty nice of you Steve, I'll take anything for free.

Dan's comments are right on imo, sh!t is mOLDy now.

What you make is totally dependent on the demo you are working in.
Sure there are probably people out there that pay more because they expect more, and thats ok. But, how many per square mile are there. And if there are 30 djs working the same area when does the cut throating stop or do they all hold out?

Now there is a new chapter for your dvd series Steve...How to dominate cut throat djs who have been told to charge more than they're worth....

What I'd like to see is 10 of these million dollar djs work their magic in the same 20 square mile depressed area like Camden NJ, then I'd be a believer.
Dam, that sounds like a new series for Trump's show....

So you are attempting to help it get better like this?

Just expressing my disillusionment. Unless, of course, you'd like to censor me.

Ive made this offer before Rick. I even offered to buy the plane ticket and give them lodgings and gear to work with but none have taken me up on the offer

In a depressed market like mine with very cheap unprofessional DJs youd think one of these guys would jump at the offer to be the saviour of brides here

This market is ripe for a $5000 DJ...The offer stands

No one wants to censor you we just want to see that cute little smile again.......... Come on you can do it!

Come on Guys Bryan just got frustrated because he thought we were all getting a case of the bloat. I think all forums suffer from bloat from time to time but it never stays to long and tends to only hit once in a blue moon.

I dont have the ability or good sense to censor myself let alone someone else

Now those who are not part of the solution are part of the problem so what would you do to stop the "pissing contests"

Hmmm... Banishing troublemakers would be a start

Isnt that once again censorship?

I guess Im doing things all wrong Ive learned when things frustrate me I move on to the next subject

WOW...talk about group think censorship at its finest.

What is this...3rd Grade?

Are you men or mice?

Seriously...is this your idea of building unity?

I'll be sure to add "Prophet" to your resume.

Will it be okay if I just step in and interrupt your conversations in the future...just because I have a premonition about where it will end up?

What a crock!

But don't pull cowardly moves like this and pretend to be a forum for professionals.

I'm getting visions of Adam Sandler, Chris Farley and David Spade as the Gap Girls.

The ABOVE quote is what I was referring to when I mentioned ANYTHING about being "professional".

IF the ABOVE quote (excerpts of the fellow who was talking about how "unprofessional" we are) is IN FACT, an example of being PROFESSIONAL, then I stand corrected.

Yes, Ace, I AM listening and paying attention.

The point is, you guys focus so much on being "professional" that you forget we're all humans. We have the right to get annoyed, pissed, angry. We have the right to lash out if we need to to express a point.

Sorry, I don't feel the need to be professional with you guys. There is not one person here I need to impress.

Arnoldo please clarify. Im not sure where your going with your post. Explain Raunchy. Perhaps give me a definition of Crunk. Oh OH and did someone call you and Peter unprofessional in the same stroke or seperate. Im puzzled. Sometimes when you want to reach a member personally a PM and or a phone call will gain quicker results.

I will gladly clarify, Jon.

When I said Raunchy I mean extreme in levels on topics. Sometimes we really will "burn" another member (Photoshopping their pictures for example.)

Sometimes we'll call each other idiots.

Sometimes everyone here will spend whole threads talking crap about Sid or DJ Chat.

But let Mr. Merry tell you that you're acting like you're in third grade and suddenly we're all professional and he's not.

... this whole ugly thread is in defense of guys like you. A member from outer space has come here to put you down... and I quote:

"I joked with JT earlier that perhaps I might need to drink the Kool Aid to fit in here".

Most of our members are unimpressed with that posters status and attitude. What would you do if someone kept insulting you? Ask to have the thread shut down or moved? That poster clearly has nothing but contempt for you ("you" is synonymous with "US")... support him and he'll flame you every chance he gets.

C'mon Ace... back off and let us handle it without you stirring up the pot. You're term in the outhouse has expired... let it go.

Tyrone, I don't care who's side Peter is in... honestly. What I am concerned about, and have shared many times with Jon (before it even began) is that this board is so friendly with each other that groupthink happens.

When this board first started it consisted of DJ Chat members that all have the same opinions. To be honest, this board got a little boring because everyone just agreed with each other like some cheesy Disney movie and we didn't get much out of it.

Newer members joined and debates started happening. We were all one friendly family with the same thought process except a few big differences.

Now we have some members with a whole different concept and THAT'S when group think happens!

"Oh no! Someone disagrees with the general thought process of the majority!"

I am not disagreeing nor agreeing about shutting down the thread, as I have not read it myself (someone point me to a location.)

What I am disagreeing about is that this board is going to turn ugly unless some changes are made.

What is the exact reason this thrad was shut down, as Dan's excuse was unclear to me?

OK, why don't they just quietly start a new thread in "Seminars, DVDs, etc" category.

Those who are interested can post there, and keep the debate going.

Instead of us striving for professionalism lets strive to be polite, dispense with name calling. I have read a few post where the author is chastising another person for being unproffesional when the whole time they are calling them silly names:sqerr: . Ace is correct he is not here to impress anyone we are here in my opinion to share ideas, not force opinions on others. We all share a common bond the love of what we do, with this love comes a great passion for our own beliefs in which it is accomplished. This intern creates some of the heated discussions on this board

You missed the point, Ace.

I did not bring up what "professional" is and then post a rant of insults.

Nevermind that. It was just a simple comment I made and the issue, rather than be acknowledged for what it really meant, was sidestepped; if you don't believe me, then just read the original post and then read the reply I got.

I sent you a friendly PM, also.

No, you do not have to be professional. Could you be friendly, at least?
