You think he's charging too much or too little?
The prices look good. However, I do not know the demographics of the area, so it is hard to tell whether he is just high end or spot on with current market prices.

Its upper level Sacramento rates. He is for real and he lives just miles away from my Parents. Most of these guys do a lot of work at their posted prices but also do events for less.

ok..... he's a nice guy (Chris)...always been nice to me. He used to DJ outside of a big club where i was the main DJ inside. I've personally never seen him do a mobile event...so i can't speak on that. But, i about choked when i saw what he was charging.....BUT he does network his butt off. All the power to him....i don't charge as much as he does, but I really don't depend on my DJ fees to live and pay my montly bills. I don't offer as much as he does for services....so i'm a bit jealous of that, but don't want to have to deal with that overhead and headache at times. After 26 years, I like to keep it simple and classy. It was a shock to see someone post it on here.....

Sacramento is a very competitive market...and alot of good Mobile companies and dj's IMHO...... what seperates me is my CLUB reputation and the fact that i have worked with alot of touring artists and have kept a good rep for so long.

Like most places around the country....everyone is undercutting to get business in Northern Cali.....so if he can get those prices/fees....... Take the $$$$ and deliver!!! I'm happy for him and his company.

Well for a minute you had me believing his posted prices were fiction. If he does that for a living more power to him. Why throw a hook and line in the water when one can just cast a net. So according to your statement, you are doing it more for the fun of it while it is a serious business for him. Two different mentalities my friend. He laughs all the way to the bank while others seek fame, eh! ;)

More like..... I've done my bulk time..... i basically DJ'd every weekend Friday and Saturday from the time i was 20-40! Missed alot of live and worked my booty off...... When i hit 40 i decided to focuse more on the mobile and less on clubs and enjoy life and family more. 60 hrs a week for 20 years was a grind.
Oh yeah...more power to people that want to market, network and spend the time and energy into driving and building bigger and bigger. I know and have worked with quite a few here in Northern California and love when guys do things with professionalism and class.

I personally have chosen to do my company with less stress but with high quality. Man i sound old LOL. I'm still young at heart and love life......plus my dad is battling stage 4 lung Cancer, so i try and be close to my parents as much as possible to help them.

Kudos to you. Its taken me 36 years to learn success isnt just about money (though I wouldn't mind pulling those kind of rates :) ). Sorry to hear about your Dad..prayers to you and your family.

Now this chap got it going on, with prices. Where is Mix, he would drool if he saw this.....LOL!

Why would i drool over the prices he has posted? That's great for him. Now if he is getting paid that on a consistant bases then that's great. If not then it really doesn't matter. Since i joined the NJDJNA i am now able to provide such services as he does. I can do this because of the network. That would push our prices in that range to or close to it if i offered the same thing he does to a client. How much of that is his profit? Does he offer all these things himself or is a rental thing with him? Besides such things he advertises how good of a DJ is he? All those things won't make up for him being a poor DJ. I doubt he is but just playing devils advocate here. He can offer all those things but ultimately he has to know how to sell them to a potential client. Also not everybody he meets with is going to be willing to pay for all those services or willing to spend that much for him to be their entertainment at their wedding. Enough said for now.

I just got on the computer.
I am drinking a cup of hot coffee.
I started reading Mix's response.
I almost swallowed a moutful of hot coffee.
I have learned NEVER to have a mouthful of hot coffee when reading Mix's posts.
AAAArrrrrrrrrrrrggggghhhhhhh!

yes but he basis his assumtions on hear-say. i wood never dew that.

Houston we only make so much off of things the association provided for us. So the price would like that to the client. We would get a small percentage for having such to add to a clients event. The sad part is my partner wants to do it himself so he can collect all the money himself. He wants to do video and wanted to start out with 2 25 inch tv's and take the extra money from that to get bigger tv's. That won't happen. Nobody will pay extra for those size tv's doing video. You would just have to throw them in to win the gig.
