What do you use or recommend for getting your GOBO unit up to project down on the dance floor?
My GOBO fixture is Chauvet's EZ GOBO. If that has any away on your thoughts.
Looking for information like height suggestions, stands with very small footprints, etc...
Thanks in advance.

I'm using data projectors for gobos but I think my advice would be the same. Do not try to use a small-footprint or lightweight stand. It's not pretty when a guest knocks over your lightweight stand and having any kind of projector slam into a guest's head is lawsuit territory. After trying a number of different options, I now use a solid-metal, 9ft crank stand from cheaplights. I still try to put it out of the way but drop a sandbag on one of those heavy stands and very little chance it's going to get knocked over.

Sinec she wants it projected on the dance floor; I am thinking of having the stand behind me, so it will not be easily accessible to guests. Having it setup off to the side might be awkward.

If your stand is tall enough, like what I use, that will work well. I also put it next to my table for floor shots as well. I've gotten to where I try to avoid floor shots and far prefer to find a good wall space, especially if you can find one over the head table.
