I bought a new Gigaport HD soundcard to replace a Gigaport AG card. I did not install the software it came with. I just let Windows XP find and install it.
However, I am getting very little volume out of it. And yes, the main volume setting on the laptop is at the highest level.
I see in the HD's installation sheet that the provided software has separate volume controls for both channels. I thought I could get by without installing the Gigaport HD's software.
What am I doing wrong here? I used the AG model for years with no problems by letting XP install it. But the HD model seems to want more. Why am I getting so little volume out of the HD model?
Your thoughts? And is the AG card still available for purchase?
