Getting To Know The New ODJT!

To many ads? Support ODJT and see no ads!
OK it happened again. I click on "Home" the one under "Mark Forums Read" and I got logged out.

Some else PM'ed me with a similar problem and clearing their cache fixed this issue.

There is a myriad of setups out there. Everything from antivirus, to a firewall, to installed extensions can be messing with your cookies. It's just too much for me to try and troubleshoot. If you'd like to setup a time I'll take a look over Team Viewer

Maybe we should tell Canute about the secret vote to give him a "special" account

Yes you do - we're going through a drought over here. Thanks alot! Ricky's pet Gator might come by for a swim.

Danno, what about the ads that have popped up?

Ok that's weird. There were some ads in the middle of the first post and now they're gone? I've gotta stop drinking so much water.
Your not seeing things Kirby. :) Those ads (Adsense) are being shown to guests under the first post but shouldn't be shown in the middle of posts. I'll see what the issue is. Thanks.

Fixed. Thanks for letting me know Kirb. :)

Gracias, sir! Then I wasn't hallucinating? :) And yes, I was viewing this as a visitor.. ;)

I'm not touching the gator, because I don't know where he's been and who he's been doing.. ;)

It's not the software. I'm using a CDN so the site will move faster, still ironing out the kinks before we get on a new server. I've had zero issues with submitting posts except the occasional delay.

I brought this over here, otherwise the Kid may ask me to cut his grass... ;) xf:D

I'm getting a lot of errors here... Sometimes just when I'm typing a post, it will just error out.

Many times it happens when I hit Preview. Usually a server timeout.

I noticed the dreaded TRIPLE post by Art in another thread.

If was seeing them I could troubleshoot. The only issue I've seen is sluggishness on post submissions from time to time. I haven't even gotten a server timeout in a week.

I'm beginning to think like you the double/triple posts are just impatient folks hitting submit too many times.

Since moving over to the CDN pages are loading a helluva lot faster even on a fresh browser with a clean cache. Everything static is cached and served by servers close to the surfer.

It's very sporadic Danno -- some times it works fine, some times it blows up for a few hours, and gets slow as heck, and pops errors a lot.

I don't have time to clear my cache everyday -- I do it maybe once a couple weeks. I would suspect that most users do it much less than me, since most leave their computers on all the time now.

The errors I'm getting, are not from the browser, they're from XF.

Thanks Rick. I've been doing my research and there are bigger boards than us (1M+ posts) running on XF. That's why I'm doubting it being a software issue. The developer is the ex-vBulletin lead developer which makes me trust he knows what he's doing.

I'd lean more towards hardware trouble. I know we drop offline every day around 4am while the backup is running which shouldn't happen but it's early, no one is on, and I'm too busy chasing these problems then to worry about that.

I'm hoping the hardware upgrade will fix most of our issues once it happens.
