Interesting, and made me think...
I've gone through many copies of Zep IV (ZoSo) on vinyl. When I decided to really learn to play guitar other than a few chords (after seeing Roy Clark in concert), I chose Stairway To Heaven, as the song I would use to learn.
Basically locked myself in my bedroom for a couple months, and learned the song note for note, chord for chord. I had no pitch control on the cheapie table I had at the time, so I put a weight on the record to slow it down, and then transposed up.
Also had a nickel taped on the cartridge, to keep it from bouncing when a truck went by, or I moved.
Not sure how many copies I went through, but a few...
Still have one of those originals from that period, and noticed Wiki has a nice read on it (although I can't really see the dog image that well in the mirror, although maybe after a couple more beers)
