Fender Passport PD 500

I know some of you will smille but i was not.

Today i heard the Fender Pessport PD 500 in combination with small DB technologis 12 inch active sub.I must say - not bad at all.
Fenders speakers was on a speaker stand together on some stand adapter and sub on the ground behind the speaker stand.Sub was connected to the Monitor out on Fenders mixer and speakers true speakons on Fenders amp outs.Source of music was a CD player(single Denon player dont know the model).
System sounded good and clear till 3/4 of the power then not so good anymore.BUT till the 3/4 limit was relly OK and IMO good system for around 50-100 people.Of course its not a Club sounded thing but not bad.If we conssider the portability,weight and simplicity is the system top of the line in combination with small active sub which weight is only 19kg(about 40ibs).:sqbiggrin:

So, does any of you heard the system?I like to hear youre comments on this.

P.S.

Only thing which is NOT on the side of this system is the price which is about 1200$ and of course in Europe the same in Euros.:sqerr::sqwink:
 
my Dynacord system will appear much the same as what you mentioned but trust me it will relish the thought of 3/4 and beyond and so will the folks across town. Ben at NLFX is who will be my source of purchase.

Marco are you considering this system.?
 
Considering the price of the PD-500 and the awkwardness of the Fender Passport mixer/amp tower, there are definitely better options. I used to own a Passport PD-250 system and it's easily one of the worst purchases I've ever made. I'd stay away.
 
For ceremony systems I use nothing but Fender Passport 150 and 250, with my preference for the 150 because of it's extremely small size battery power etc. Speakers are extremely easy to hide behind flowers or other items and the output is easily enough to handle everything for any ceremony situation.

You wont belive but-several times.Dynacord is one of the best things i ever heard.Cristall clear , powerfull and good made.

Im not buying a new system except i sell Bose and buy Dynacord but i doubt.

Yeasterday i sign the conntract with biggest insurance Company here for 25 gigs a year but mostly for talking and background music.Next week i will sign up with turist agency for 5 Ski openings this season and thats 30 gigs where i need something small and lightweight.

And you know my friend, its not easy to carrye things over here-You remember?

Marco I think when ears were passed out you were in the same line as me LOL Hope you get my simple humor. Seriously though I was so set on the Bose and then heard the Dynacords offerings (Michael Doucot and Ben know Im going to be buying from NLFX ASAP). I guess you heard the same! Thanks for proving once again Im not so unique.
 
I have the PD-500 and love it...I have done Wedding Receptions of less than 100 people with it...The Current Average street price of $1400. is a bit much....I paid about $1060. for mine in early 07,not that much more than the $675. I paid for my original P-250 Ten Years Ago...Unfortunately the place I bought mine no longer carries Fender.

Steve, I actually love that mixer. I played with it in Vegas. One thing that concerns me though, is that the dual PLAYER that matches up with that mixer, has shut down on one of our members for a mandatory firmware update... Now it did happen at his home, but imagine if it had happened while at an event?

I would be afraid if the same thing might happen to the mixer.
 
Wow, thanks for the info on the firmware problem. A failure like that would really be catastrophic. But I would never consider a player to be used with the unit. I did mention that a player can be used, but I see no reason to. The whole idea I have for it is simply a ceremony unit. I might play 6 songs with it at a time. The SD chips can hold hundreds of songs.
For back-up, I would have the songs on a CD, and a small pocket size CD player to plug into the back of my Mackie SRM 350.
But really, chances of a failure with my intended use I think would be extremely rare.
 
I have a passpor 250 and I love it. It is for sale now because I want to step up to a 500.
Anyone want a 250 for under $600?
