Just wanted to post a response I got about the Live X series tonight.

An event manager said that they've never heard sound as good as came from the system that was used tonight.

The system:

Sennhesier Wireless Handheld
Serato Itch
Pioneer CMX 3000
Pioneer DJM 3000
(2) EV Live X 12's
(2) EV Live X 18's

ROCK ON EV!!!

I had the powered 18's bumpin last night at a halloween party and got some nice compliments.
 
I got a price on a pair with one sub today.... and I think it was under $1700, not including shipping. Having now heard them in a big room ( though empty ), I know I love them.

What do you love most about them without makeing it a EV vs (????)?

I don't know... all of it... With a sub, more bass than my Bose. I do think the Bose tone "might" be better, but I am not even sure of that.... and a heck of a lot easier setup and tear down. And louder overall. I still am happy I bought my Bose. it USED TO sell itself on occasion. I don't really sell my gear name, but you had Bose... you know how that is with SOME folks. But the name doesn't sell like it used to for me.

That's kinda what I figured you'd say as it has been my experience too... tonally I think my Bose was better... but for overall tone quality and pure SPL my TourX has Bose beat...

I also have found that while the name us recognized by many it really was only a selling point to those that owned Bose equipment themselves where others were like "as long as it sounds good, we don't care".

I only wished I could have kept my Bose as I would still use them for certain situations where high SPL isn't desired by the client.
 
I also don't want this to turn into a "EV vs ..." thread but if you have not heard them, go listen to them.

I think most of my clients are in the "as long as it sounds good" world. I also think that the variety of systems we have is dependent on what 'we' think sounds good - not the customer. It's subjective to us as individuals.

I really am lovin' my Live X's (this is not a sales pitch) and they have taken over for indoor parties (and they have received compliments). QSC's have fallen to backup duty (although I use them on occasion with the Live X subs). I'd like to hear some Tour X's at some point but I'm not in the market for new speakers - unless I decided to get rid of some of the ones I have.

Outdoor duty remains with Peavey 115PS's / SP2's running off of a Peavey GPS-3500 / Crown XTI-2000.

My EV SXA360's are my main system (along with the EV SB2A sub) and my back up, as I have sold off my EV SXA100+ and my behringer 212A's and bought 2 more EV SXA360's! They sound awsome and at 500 watts biamped, 4 of them can handle almost any gig! I just did a high school homecoming dance (400+ students) and they provided more than enough volume & spl! I have not heard the live X series yet but have heard nothing but good reviews!
 
I'm going to compare to the 802's - haven't heard any other Bose speakers.

I'd like to agree, depending on which setup it is. I have a friend that has the Bose 802's with the sub and he has ok bass - he actually thinks he has too much bass (he added another (2) 802's).

I think they're right on par. Dispersion might be better on the Bose.

I've never sold using brand names. Your clients have no idea who the names are in the market.
