A Beer is better for you than a Diet Coke! Don't believe me, go ask Softjock Rick, he will set you straight! At my weekly karaoke bar gig I have a tab as part of the contract to cover food and a drink or two. Usually some of the patrons purchase drinks for me, or offer to, I tell the bartender to put those on a tab as credit and in turn buy drinks for some of the better or new karaoke singers. It works out pretty well. I do not get drunk or buzzed on the job, and most of the drinks is usually just diet coke. Now at private gigs, there is no drinking of alcoholic beverages exception being the toast, but then only if I am brought a glass. Whether everyone of anyone agrees or dis-agrees, it works for me.
