Does anybody have a round graphic for making gobos?

To many ads? Support ODJT and see no ads!

Do these just go on acetate? What fixture are they for?
If they just go on film, I would take them to a local sign shop and have them cut out of black vinyl decal. It should be very cost effective. I could turn a hundred of those out in less than an hour.

Photocopier transparency paper. $1/sheet at Staples. I'm using it in the new Chauvet Zoom led gobo. Very pleased so far. So you're saying to cut the decal then mount it on glass or plexiglass? Final size (printed) is 24mm so it's pretty small. The circle is 28.8mm.
 
I like Hank's thinking, and Rick you get glass cut to size (I do not know if the Chauvet light accepts the glass as I don't have one or have read the manual) then put the vinyl sticker on and voila.
 
Photocopiers do a very nice job of producing black on paper. They generally do a crappy job on film.

You could do as Hank suggests and have a sign guy cut vinyl. Have him transfer it to film. Do it yourself and you'll get wrinkles.

The other option is to go to a print shop and have them produce the film for you. But call ahead. Many will only produce a negative, so you need to generate your artwork as a negative, so the result is a positive.

Well, with glass or plexi, I would need the blanks. However, if the light works with sheet film alone, I can design and make those all day long. This could be a good side biz for me.

You wanna experiment on me? Not sure if the sheet film would melt or not but I'm game if you are. I need "B" and "D" for this weekend but will do A-Z and you're right. Might be a good piece of side-biz for ya.

Good point Dave. I'd like to just buy A-Z plates or vinyl but all of the gobo makers will only sell crappy non-script fonts as "stock gobos". Everybody wants to ding you $60-$100 per plate.
