Trust me I know very well in most cases what such things spell and that is trouble. Around here what happens when they want to hear today's hip hop and r & b all night especially in a bar or club it turns into a mess. The people there will eventually want the DJ to play some gangsta rap. That's where all they can do on the song is curse every other word, talk dirty about women and talk about how much money they are making from selling drugs. Also a lot of them talk about having a gun and killing people.

If it's a bar or club what normally happens is that style of music brings some of the kids who are under age with fake ID's if the place even checks for ID's. Trust me a fight breaks out or someone gets shot. In the past I've either been in such places or played in such places and because of my experience in such places I refuse to play in such places.

I'll make a dare here on this forum! I'm playing again in that bar in Orange, NJ on the 14th. That's on a Friday. I dare one of you DJ's to show up there in the bar that night and introduce yourself to me. If interested here is the address. It's 29 South Center St. Orange, NJ and called The Private Place Lounge. My start time to play is 9pm. Who's scared?!
Is that the place where someone redesigned your vehicle? :embarrassed:

No one is scared. Most of us would rather stick our hand in the blender and spen the night at the emergency room.

Trust me if it was place where i felt I would be in trouble I would never come. I had a friend who mentioned a bar not far from where lives that needed a DJ. I checked it out and it was a zoo. Clowns with their pants hanging off their ass and the houchie mamas. Some of them trying to look older then they are and all the DJ could play was this ghetto rap garbage! He played one club song called Wonderful and cut that short to go back to that same garbage he just finished playing. I don't play that crap. I have some of it on my HD but I don't play it.

I didn't even like the security guard at the front door. He just let me come in and never checked me at all. He just said come in. I know I'm up there in age and don't look like I will start trouble but to me security needs to do it's job regardless of who comes to the door.

I don't have to trust you. I'm not new to this game. If you look closely, you're defining area - not music. There are other areas that may not be experiencing what you describe with the same music.

I'd relate this to area as well. Typically, most bar owners do not want to get busted serving someone under age because it causes them problems.

How did we get on bars with this topic? You said it I didn't. There are certain areas where you don't have to worry about such things happening. Around here that's a major concern. The bar that my partner was playing when I first met him was a mess. He said it wasn't all that bad. That's a big lie and I told him so! The owner wouldn't pay to have security in the bar when the DJ played. They had a bunch of under aged people in the bar. One I knew personally because she used to go to the middle school where I used to work at.

You could go in the bathroom and guys would be in there getting high off of drugs. He told me one night somebody was standing right next to him and he had a gun on him. The last night he was there they had a big bar brawl that my partner said lasted for 10 minutes. One person got thrown on the other side of the bar. The bartender got his nose broken with a chair. He said he was hiding out where he kept the equipment.

The manager told a lie and said the DJ caused the fight. The police knew the truth and told it. He said we've been to enough of these places where they let a bunch of young kids too young to be in the bar and eventually all hell brakes lose like it did that night. Where the owner messed up at was not having security. But he really didn't care about that bar. He had another bar that was his baby. His attitude with this bar was he only cared about making money and never mind if it went to SH**.

Now to be fair some of you live in an area that if you are playing in a bar you can get away with playing those of music I mentioned all night long. Super bad ideal around. What I've seen personally is that 95% to 99% of places where that's what they do don't last. Around here the best thint o do if you're going to play that type of music is to mix it up and not play it all night long.

Pay attention like I said I stay away from such places that I feel I need to do that or private events that I feel I need to do that. Have I ever DJed in places like that. Yes. That was when I was much younger and desperate to make a name for myself. I'm no longer desperate any more the way I used to be. As I've gotten older I've become more cautious what types of gigs I do.

I've seen your pics of the women you hang with ...... I'm VERY scared!

Hey, don't go down that road Randy -- I've had some nice chicks. A few thousand sluts in between, but there were a few good ones. Here's my favorites:

Damn right it did! The one at Fred and Shirl's was worse though, trying to get over that dog gate, with a garbage bag, Crash and burn. It always happens when I'm carrying garbage out -- maybe I shouldn't do that...

Up here, the staircase is very steep and narrow -- 13 stairs (Grandma always taught us to count them, because the power doesn't always work). Fortunately, I had the carpet replaced, and padding put under it a couple years ago -- that probably saved my ass from even more damage.

What would be the reason for how you treat yourself?

I don't know -- how do you treat yourself...?

My dog is my companion (it's a civil union...hehehe ). She covers my ass in many ways -- she protects me, she alerts me, she can even open doors. Heck, she can even pinpoint the skin cancer spots.

So, it's important to me to keep her happy, healthy, and doing her job. She herds me cause she has no more goats or sheep -- it's a good thing as I get older.

At the absolute minimum... worthy of clean running water and reliable electricity. Then it goes up from there.

Well, I can't attest to the clean water -- it was decent when I left last year, but my brother messed something up. He was digging ditches all around the well, and playing with all the valves in the house -- then he shut the pump down for like 9 months. WTF!

The electric is so-so -- old, only 60 amps (it's really only 30, because 30 was for the range, which we don't have).

I have heat in 4 rooms out of 17 -- plus my solar heaters, which are not functional, because there's been almost no sun since I came back.

Sometimes you have a bad year or two Bob -- this would be mine...

Rick: What can I do to help? 10kv generator? Propane heaters? Blankets? Coats? A dozen boxes of sterno?

You got a decent chainsaw I can borry? I got tons of wood here that is seasoned, and I can move it up at Haleeems and out front -- would give me some decent cash flow.

Most everything I had of value is gone -- don't know where it went. Chainsaw gone, he broke my new weed whacker, took a good portion of my tools, my nice gaming computer, and a ton of electronic stuff. But he left all the sh_t.

I was expecting to come back to paradise from what he told me about all this great work he did -- it's much worse than when I left. I'm extremely disappointed. He left his wine glasses here though.

Rent some of the rooms in the house "as is" You may get a few hundred dollars a month!
