Actually, if they are put together correctly, they do not have to be crawled by search engines

I imagine they're not exactly high on the list of stuff people care about (like important things we discuss here -- bald DJs, beer, goats, et.al.)... :yoBiggrin:

I think I would like to add a couple things I find related enough to belong in this thread...

1) Notice my user status "not all opinions are created equal". Some users here (and elsewhere) have large gold chunks dripping off their text, while others have large brown stains. It's up to each individual user to figure out who is who, but if you're not doing it, you're making a mistake.

2) Over the last couple of months, I have been far more careful in who I "befriend" on Facebook, especially when it comes to D.J.s local to me. I'm convinced that some of them are (essentially) "friends" in order to try and steal my ideas. In fact, I'm starting to question some of the "stalking" aspects of Facebook. Add someone totally at random and see how many of your "friends" try to add them, too.

I think they HELP the industry.
I figure, if they help ME to be a better DJ, they gotta be helping others...
and that means better DJ's and MORE of them!

the only way they can hurt the biz
is if every post on every thread on every site is negative and demeaning
to other DJ's, other vendors, and other clients...
and only if clients start reading them!

Not at all. Couldn't care less. If a forum chooses to be secret or private, that is their prerogative. We should all be able to communicate with anyone we like, and not communicate with ones we don't wish to.

I would be more concerned about people that are upset because they are not invited to every group than I would about private forums.
