Did I miss where Randy was out of line or harsh to Rick? Randy is a consumer in need of a specific product. He wants to know if Rick's product is such. Just because this product may have been determined to not be Randy's choice, doesn't make it a bad product. You don't get to a version 4.1 without feedback and suggestions.
I don't want to speak for Rick, but he's about as cool as they come. I doubt anything aired here rattled his cage (or coop).

I don't think I said anything about you being a moderator or the hard work you do, but when you call me out for something I didn't start you're not doing things fairly.
I agree........I will continue to use those work arounds also. That's why it's never been a make or break it deal. But, when Rick asked for comments, I gave it to him and I felt like he went into a defensive posture about the way I was utilizing his software to run my show.

All I have is holes cut in brick, with beams shoved in them, and a couple streams underneath.
Trust me on this -- yer request is much easier than doing the floors...
Kinda cool though, I get to see what's happening down there...

The drag-n-drop in VDJ does exactly what I need.

Hmm perhaps if you had a drag and drag and drop crack filler you would be complete Rick. Oh and if its any consolation I was just thinking the same thing about being able to drag and drop. Its pretty universally PC. I of course change my order of songs frequent in that list as well.
I re-arrange the set that's automixing in vdj all the time....I'm usually working 10 to 15 tunes ahead...I have the song playing; I don't like the order of the next 5...just grab them and drag and re-arrange. If I decide I don't want to play one, I'll drag it up above the one that is playing.....all while VDJ is auto-mixing.
I believe that's what Randy is looking for.
My only suggestion is: If the pants don't fit......get the size that does...

I love Rock-it...In fact I've recommended it to others on other boards. I'd be using it now but for the inability to "tree" the music library (like vdj)..

wow,, this is a long thread... I bet everything that could be said about "Drag & Drop" has been said. Yep, every conceivable, thing has been said about "Drag & Drop" that anyone could possibly want to read has been set forth here.....
I'm not sure what the fuss is all about even after all the discussion?
I have used several programs that allow songs to be dragged from a music folder into the play list and then once in the play list the song can be dragged up or down in the list easily. This seems to be standard in pretty much every DJ or media player program I have looked at, even the free ones.
Even most media players allow songs to be dragged and dropped into the song list and rearranged on-the-fly. Spider player and Quintessential player both do this easily and both are excellent programs. DJMixpro which is a $20 DJ program does it easily and it has optional, automatic, adjustable crossfading, it has auto beat mixing, it has tempo and pitch control and a bunch more features. It's also extremely easy to use and easy to learn with a very straightforward and clean interface. I haven't found anything I like better even for hundreds of dollars.
It has a MUCH cleaner look and feel than PCDJ and it's even easier and more intuitive than OTS. I haven't found a simpler program to use that has the features that DJMixPro has. I'm surprised more people aren't using it. I wish I had found it before I bought PCDJ Blue.

Since I like to go to events with a playlist already set up so I feel like I'm not going in blindly, drag and drop and rearranging the playlist order to add requests etc. at the event is 100% essential and it needs to be fast and simple to do. Even if I don't use a single song in my pre-chosen playlist, I still walk in feeling confident and prepared that I have something ready and prepared ahead of time whether I use it or not.
