From another forum. And business cards are better, IMO.

My friend just posted a picture on facebook- her son got a small animal SKULL in his ToT bag- and yes, it was real.

Only in Maine.

I grew up on worse premium crap than there is today. As an "adult" I don't eat it so much. Guess what? I'm still here.

Halloween (in the US) = candy. It's called "tradition". All cultures have them.
My girl always got her sweets and her healthy food. The loot from Halloween always gets rationed out and lasts for months.

You don't like it when others jump to conclusions, why then are you suggesting that parents aren't looking after their kids?

Hank - Take a gander at my avatar......

"The percentage of overweight children in the United States is growing at an alarming rate, with 1 out of 3 kids now considered overweight or obese.

Many kids are spending less time exercising and more time in front of the TV, computer, or video-game console. And today's busy families have fewer free moments to prepare nutritious, home-cooked meals. From fast food to electronics, quick and easy is the reality for many people in the new millennium.

Preventing kids from becoming overweight means adapting the way your family eats and exercises, and how you spend time together. Helping kids lead healthy lifestyles begins with parents who lead by example"

"Diabetes is one of the most common chronic diseases in children and adolescents; about 151,000 people below the age of 20 years have diabetes.

When diabetes strikes during childhood, it is routinely assumed to be type 1, or juvenile-onset diabetes. However, in the last 2 decades, type 2 diabetes (formerly known as adult-onset diabetes) has been reported among U.S. children and adolescents with increasing frequency. Also, studies conducted in Europe showed an increase in the frequency of type 1 diabetes, especially in young children. It is unclear whether the frequency of type 1 diabetes is also increasing among U.S. youth."

Yah, you might have turned out OK...not so much for a lot of kids....

It wasn't Halloween that did it Steve. People suffer from all sorts of health issues. Some by fault and some by nature. It's case by case. You can't deny all of society something just because it has had an extreme negative affect on some.

Do you know how many cases of severe depression and suicides there are caused by the scrutiny of the pretty/physically fit fanatics of the world?

Take your head out of the sand and be proud of who you are.

Hank - the statistics are telling us that kids are getting fatter and fatter all of the time...Why? The notion that trolling for bags of sugar and eating said sugar is acceptable simply goes against the idea of trying to instill in 5 year olds the need to eat healthy to prevent these statistics from coming to fruition.

Hank you can't walk down the street or in any school and tell me that there isn't a problem....

Let kids enjoy the experience, don't start them on the road to obesity and diabetes.

They've banned soda's in a lot of elementary/middle schools....Why???

Proper parenting would alleviate most of the issues. The gov and schools can be as responsible as they want but it doesnt fix stupid. My folks moderated the candy stash and we didnt go to Mcdonalds 5 times per week not even 5 in a yr. It is an individual parent team that needs to take care of this. One family at a time. Next thing ya know the government will ban Halloween to try and help those who cant help themselves.:triwink:

I didn't say it wasn't a problem. There are lots of problems and lots of solutions.
Abstinence can lead to binging, while moderation can lead to control.

I don't want my rights taken away by those that don't approve or can't deal.
I don't want my job taken away as fallout by those that don't approve or can't deal.
I don't want the things I purchase to have special taxes applied because of those that don't approve or can't deal.

You're right Jon and you know what else? Sixteen year old kids don't make responsible parents. Neither do 32 year old grandparents.

So, you guys putting cards in bags or not?:tribiggrin:

if you think about what they did was good to a point.....

but if I was on that side handing out the goodies

I would have given out

- free t-shirts
- free kandy (with my name on it)
- free baseball hats (with names on it!)
- magnetic business cards for the fridge

and who knows whatelse I could have marketed into a special bag....

something like that could be used elsewhere
free advertising
more would have wanted to spread the word

use your imagination
dont say its spam (in a way the way those guys did it was spam)
but doing something like I would have (and have done)

would benefit you 10x fold!

have a nice day

Did you vote yesterday for the Senate or House.

If ya voted Republican Obama probably took away your privileges Great talking with you on the phone:triwink: LOL
Not that it really matters, but why can't I vote?

I meant in Papa's pole, it was locked or something. Now it works.

Good talking to you too, Jon. Thanks for the welcome.
