Masterful, shane. I see you've got the FPPs lookng good, too. :)

Gobo looks nice in the tent. Did you do any uplighting in the tent? T-bar with FPP?

So you're content with the clairity of the self-made gobo's?
 
I have yet to even try making a gobo myself. I didn't buy the fixture for that purpose I just needed a cheap lightwieght gobo projector! It's a bonus that I have the option but based on the examples I have seen I think I will stick to getting my gobos custom made. The hearts on the tent were 1 of the 8 free stock gobos included with the light.

I decided not to bring any other lighting since they didn't book any lighting. This gig was 15 minutes from my place so after I set up I went back to get the gobo zoom led because I wanted to get some new pictures of it and show it in a different setting.

This client canceled our cocktail and ceremony add on, which was a nice chunk of change, I wasn't motivated to provide more than she expected after that. tossing in the heart gobo was enough freebie I was willing to give up. I did it more for you guys then her, lol just wanted more pics to show!

(i did bring an old adj scotty but never used it during the night, I felt like the colors would have ruined the overall look in the tent)
 
It's better sometimes not to show all your special "FX" until later. To many DJ's put them all on in the early part of the evening and leave them on. It's always wise, I think, to keep the people asking and getting more as the night goes on. Except of course if you're using the Bride and Groom name for the first dance.
 
Okay, now that the new has worn off, this fixture isn't bright enough and I'm not talking metal gobo vs transparency. Don't get me wrong, it's WELL worth the money and there are a lot of things I like about it. LED, small package, metal casing, easy-to-focus....there's a lot to like about this unit. I'm using it for the 2nd time in the same room where I posted examples last week. Last week's logo had a lot of white space and it looked pretty decent. Tonight, I used a much more cursive font and it's not near as bright and from the exact same distance(50 ft), same lighting, etc. I also noticed it doesn't punch enough to work on a brown-wood dance floor. Put it at 20-30 feet and your good. Across a long throw, forget it. Your mileage may vary.
 
Rick have you projected a metal gobo from it the same distance with the similiar amount of outside light or darkness? Until then you got instructed that the gogbs for professional use should be metal. Until then your review or opinion is incomplete.

Jon, I have A/Bed metal vs transparency. The difference is (arguably) negligible on like gobos. The key is big, fat typestyle that lets more light thru. Here's 2 weeks ago:

Same room, same lighting (I adjusted the room myself). I have 2 of these fixtures and have A/Bed metal vs transparency at about 15 feet. There was relatively little difference, to my eyes. The fat-ness of the font makes much more difference. Hate to say it but I guess I'm going to be picking up a PR1 pretty soon and will have to invest in some plates. I'll still use these LED boxes on smaller events but need to punch it up on bigger jobs.
