whatcha got and how much media ya got? i am working on using a 'bleeding edge' preamp from the old days (carver spectrum preamp) for records (vinyl).

Ed, I have six Time Life albums. I don't think I need anything fancy...just a conversion to either WAV or 320 mp3.

hit me up via pm or email. :)

I have three cassettes (kid's music) that I'd love to transfer to CD.

I don't have a cassette player.

What are my options?

PS - I also have six 33 1/3 albums I'd love to get onto a CD or two.

Again, I don't have a turntable.

Is there a service where I can mail them out and have it done?

Jim:

I have one of the USB turntables just for the purpose of converting records. Call me. We can set up a time for you to come by and get it done for you.

USB TT's (unless high grade) sound as good as those pop up consoles from the 70s. While ok for simple media, would NEVER trust them for my prized vinyl. They have a generic stylus and in many cases, no counterweight adjust. Now I have a USB based cassette drive, and that rocks. :)

Ed, these albums are not music. They are a Life magazine special called "To The Moon" that was available in the early 1970's. It traced the space program from Sputnik to the Apollo 11 landing.
