Colleagues : Thank you for your wishes. My family appreciates all your good thoughts, prayers, and kindnesses.

For the past year, Mom suffered more than most of us could imagine. Congestive heart failure, an untreatable skin rash, some dementia, and lots of anger. You can imagine that our first thoughts and feelings are centered on the joy and relief that Mom is finally free from all that pain and paranoia. Our personal grief will come later.

Hug someone you love today, and tell them Loretta Capello told you to.

Thanks Rob. The last year for her was awful. Thank you Jesus for finally allowing her to go home. For anyone who has seen a loved one suffer and is also a Believer will understand there's personal sadness for me and my family, especially my Dad... as they were married 65 years, but joy for Mom in God's promise.

Will you please pass along my thanks for everyone's good thoughts?

Thanks Cap...

I know that feeling Cap. I lost my mom last October to cancer after a 3 yr battle.

She is with the Lord now and suffers no more. I pray that God brings peace to you and your family during this time.

Cap I'm so sorry for your loss I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

It is never easy to lose anyone. Especially your Mom. It is tough but the best way to get through it is to always talk about her.

Whenever our family gets together, half of the conversations are "Do you remember when Mom......."

Our prayers are with you and your famiy Cap.

Cap, when my mother-in-law passed after weeks of congestive heart failure, major kidney problems and severe pain, all her children were there at her bedside in the hospital.

Due to being on heavy pain medication, she didn't know they were there. But according to my wife the most amazing thing happened.

As she drew her last strained breath, she opened her eyes and smiled just for a few seconds, and then passed on.

We all believe that smile was from "seeing the light" and seeing all the friends and family who were waiting for her.

So yes, your Mom is in a better place free from the body that was just worn out.

Cap, We went through the same thing with my mother in 2002. I rushed down to be with her and Dad. I nurse said she was stabilized so I told Dad I'd be back after my gig. (couldn't find anyone to cover on such short notice)
Got the call half way through the gig and had to smile and carry on. I have never loaded out so fast in all my life. I think I just tossed everything in the truck.
It was a tough day but also a good day. Mom was sick for a long time and now we knew her pain was gone and she is with our family that has gone before us.
We will meet again some day so even though your heart is heavy, be happy in knowing that your mom will be waiting when the times comes to join her again.
Oh yeah....I already hugged someone today.
