Never had this happen but possibly a close call. The first dance time was approaching and my planning sheet seemed to vanish. I was in a near panic and couldn't recall what song they wanted. Then I saw a CD that I had put aside earlier and it was the one with the 1st dance on it. Memory restored and crisis averted. My planning sheet had slipped behind the rack. I doubt that bride would have hit me though. I still see her around town every so often, long divorced from that husband.
Gonna have to say it - AI story with an AI picture. What bridge poses for a mug shot with her veil on?
Who hasn't made a mistake playing the wrong song at an event? I don't see it worth a bride coming up attacking the DJ and messing with their gear.

I have never made the mistake of playing the wrong song for the MOST IMPORTANT song of the entire reception I highly doubt few if any of the professionals on the forum have messed up that key event
I did this once, playing the wrong 25 second bride & groom intro song. Full refund applied.
I'm sorry I have to remember a lot of you strictly are into doing weddings. I was thinking of any type of event.

I think it was an fictitious story not an event that really happened
If it happened that a bride went to attack you because you did something wrong, how would you deal with such a thing? Would you pack up and leave the reception?
If I was assaulted I would wait for the police to arrive press charges and then follow the clause in my contract that states if i am threatened in anyway I have right to cease participation in the event and the client forfeits all moneys paid.

I can't remember if I've told this story here before. But I think one of the most embarrassing moments I've ever had as a DJ was during a father daughter dance. This was probably within my first 5-10 weddings ever.
The song they had asked for was "Isn't She Lovely" by Stevie Wonder. I had the song correctly loaded and labeled on the CD. But I hadn't previewed the track and didn't know about the baby crying at the start of the song. In a panic thinking I had it wrong, I stop the song to check it. After confirming that it was correct, that meant we had to listen to the baby part one more time to actually get into the correct spot of the song. It was probably 90 seconds in total, and felt like it could have been hours.
Thankfully I wasn't assaulted for not cutting it out and the song was, in fact, correct.
