The tops and subs are both passive. Haven't decided on a price yet, but if you are interested, you can PM me and I'll give you my number and we can talk at some point.

Thanks Steve! I will PM you later this week. Im still on the fence because I had my hopes set on a set of SRX 715's since they are getting phased out. But I always had a love for Yorkville especially the Unity line. Im in the process of selling 2 Yorkville speakers right now, so I really can't strike until I move them first. But I will PM you my info and we can chop it up a bit. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks to all that replied. So anyone else have them? Anyone else switch from another brand/system to go with the K series? If so what made you switch? What has your experience been with them? positive? negative? Thanks.

I have switched to the K series almost 2 yrs now, and couldn't be happier. I have 2 Ksubs, 2 K8's, 2 K12's.. Been in the DJ biz for over 15 yrs now. Over my lifetime I have owned and used over 30 different speakers and systems. (JBL, EAW, Renkus Heinz, Bose, EV, RCF, Ramsa, DAS, Peavey, Celestion, Sonic, SoundTech, Audio Centron, Community, Toa, Yorkville, Mackie) I would always buy, use, and re-sell. Most of the stuff in the past would be purchased used, but within the last 5 years I have bought new. The K system replaced my previous JBL PRX512m/718S system. I sometimes miss the lower notes that only 18" woofer can provide, but ive been pretty content with what a pair of Ksubs can do. Within the last year I added a Driverack PX to the system. All it is used for is a high pass @ 55hz for the subs. The ksubs actually can get fairly loud, they just can't extend so low, so since the addition of the Drivrack, I have no intentions of getting the KW subs like I did before. Out of all the speakers from the past I feel the QSC speakers as of late have the most natural tone of all that I have owned. With the exception of a pair of EAW UB82e's that I had in th early 2000's. But im happy with what I have, and have no intentions on upgrading for awhile.

This will be my 3rd wedding season with the K12s. They are amazing boxes when you consider size, weight (a scant 41 lbs) and cost. You can easily use them alone...for small room events. I had only owned powered 15s, prior to the K12s. They are hard hitting little ba$tards. The exhaust fan (on the Ks), is engineering genius. I work these things hard and they have never felt warm to the touch. Never, ever heard of them failing on anyone. I team them with my ELX 115s, at larger events. They have a brighter, tight sound that pairs well with the deeper, warmer sounding 115s.

Very happy with my K12s.

The K series is a step down from what you already have. My opinion of course. I own a pair of Sx300s and have heard the K12s multiple times. While the Ks are decent, the clarity and power of the EVs is superior. If you want more bass, then a sub or subs is the solution whether you use the EV boxes or the QSC boxes. Unless you do a side by side comparison and to your ears the QSCs sound better I would stick with what you have, they are excellent tops.

I use the K12's with EV LiveX 18's. I LOVE my K12's! They handle anything I throw at them. Wedding, 5k's, school dances, karaoke, live sound. They've never let me down!

My dad has 3 of them as the main system in his church.

I have both, the K12's and the EV Live X 12's (active). While I do like them both, the EV's do sound better and that K sub thingy, is a joke. One of my 18's can kick the crap out of that thing (let alone two). Having said that, I have paired both of them with the EV 18's and they both sound good. As stated previously, the QSC has a better mid to it while the EV's have a deeper sound to them. The only thing I don't like is the coating on the cabinets. The amp in the EV is supposed to be a 700/300 split (by EV's standards). The K12 is advertised as a 1000W but it's really a 500/500 (by QSC's standards). As also stated previously, why you would EVER need 500W to the top end is beyond me. 90% of the time, the EV's are my main's and the QSC's pull backup duty. Both of the 12's (QSC and EV) have multiple in's.
