I bought a pair of "good" headphones. I had a few good pair over the years but the last 20 or so I've been using cheaper ones. I've been looking for a while and settled on these. I listened in store several times over the last few months to several different pair and I liked these a lot especially at that price point

I also needed to buy something it's been a couple of months LOL

See .. I never buy anything ... ;)

I had the shakes real bad going in there today I was a bit better coming out ;)

I use a set of Sennheiser HD 558's. You can't really go wrong with Sennheiser's, but honestly; the AudioTechnica's I used for three years sound just as good and cost almost half as much.[emoji4] I keep the Sennheiser's in the rack drawer of my Large System, and the AudioTechnica's with my Small System. I have a pair of much better headphones I use at home, but I'd feel bad if I took them to a gig and someone walked off with them. If the Sennheiser's or AudioTechnica's are stolen, I won't be TOO upset.[emoji1]

The last real good pair I had was AudioTechnica I don't recall the model number. I paid close to $300 back in 89 for them and I had them till about 2004 when they completely fell apart

Using a really good set of headphones is the only way to listen to a few albums on high volume - like the Cirque De Sole' (sp??) Love Beatles album.

It's therapy for the soul!

Don’t think I’ve ever paid over $20 for a set of headphones

I have only twice in my life. The highest priced set was a Senheiser brand. I paid $129.99 for it. That set lasted only about 9 months before it broke in my carry bag. I was pissed off about it breaking. ...Since then I have only used head phones from Big Lots for deejaying. My current 2 pairs of $10 Skull Candy head phones have been in use for about 3 years now, and still work fine!

The other set I bought at Radio Shack as they were having a store closing sale. Regular price for their "Aura" brand head phones was $79.99. I got them 50% off. I use this pair for listening to videos on the laptop. It was worth the $40 as they sound pretty darn good and are comfortable to wear.

Sennheiser HD280 Pro .. same pair for the past 10 years. $100 .. $80 on sale at times.

I guess that mantra; "You get what you pay for", doesn't apply to headphones.[emoji1]

Depends .. Don't really need an audiophile level unit for DJ work. Just need it to stand up to the crushing, the pulling and the rotating.

So Alto headphones would be OK?[emoji1]

I have never bought headphones for mobile DJ use.
I just wait for someone at work to break theirs,
I take it home and Frankenstein them to work.
Most of the time, one side went out...
which is fine, cause I always make them for one-ear use anyway!

Let's not go that far :)

Truthfully it's been a long time since I payed more than $40 for a set of phones and the ones I actually use at work are refurbished Sony's I got for $8 at a clearance outlet

Audiophile sound is not needed, but we also don't want ones that sound like cats in heat.

I REALLY AM a novice at this[emoji1]... 'cause I've never broken a set of headphones.[emoji1] I must be doing something wrong. The ear pads on my Bose headphones wore out, but I just replaced them. Also, I can't do that ONE EAR thing.[emoji1]... I gotta listen with both ears or it just feels weird.[emoji1] So my headphones hang on my neck when I'm not setting up the next track.[emoji4]

I used my Bose in-ear Quiet-Comfort 20 headphones at my last gig. Probably didn't look "DJish", but the noise cancelling worked great.
