Best point and shoot camera

I am looking for a new digital camera. What is the best point and shoot you can buy for 500 to 700 buck. Would like one with a fairly good lens.

I would highly recommend this one. You can swivel the lens. In other words, if you were standing in a crowd and wanted to take a picture of what is in the front, you can raise your hand, point the lens forward and the screen down towards you and take the picture. You can also view through the viewfinder to take a quick picture.

wow i can get kodak cameras that are 12mp for under 200.00 here

Some DSLR cameras here are around 400 - 500 bucks @ 10mp

Forget point and shoot here is a great buy on a dslr that does hd video and is fairly compact. Best of all it takes great pictures and uses regular aa batteries.

Forget MP unless you are going to be printing billboard sized images. I'm a real fan of the Canon Powershot series cameras. They do very well in low light (my top priority) and they take great pictures. Plus they can be had for WAY under your budget. Google camera review sites.

Precisely why I need to get a cam ASAP!

I am missing out on taking memorable pictures of a lifetime.

It's really sad for example..I didnt have a camera to take pics of the last saturdays event. It was so much fun...and chaotic...I wish I had pics to look at. :sqfrown:

Forget your self. What about potential clients? It would be nice to show them the kind of work you do.

Oh yea... I should mention I am trying to put together a promotional video which will basically show a slideshow of pics where guests are having fun.

I've got a start of pics from a friend of mine..but I'd like to get a few more to show pics from many different venues. It shows we play all over, and that we also do a great job where ever we go, and people are having fun.

Who cares about three pages of why you should choose us. Look at the pics and determine if this is the results you want.

Good point though!

I just recieved a call today from a successful Hollywood actress bride from last summer with a referral and she has yet to put her wedding dress away as she promised a video and pics for my promotion. we will be doing coffee soon to gain this great credible reference.

The photos I've been boring the Pub folks with come from a relatively inexpensive Kodak Easy Share point & shoot. It's 9 mp and does a nice job of taking snapshots.

It has a slot, under the battery cover for an SD card. I've been using 1mb cards in this one. The card doesn't come with the camera so pick up a couple. :)

Zinc, do you have any low-light gig shots? Not that your chick isn't nice to look at. ;) You dog, you! :)
Here are a couple

Both hand hand held..
